A long time ago, I had a dream (nightmare?) that all the avatars started talking and heckling me everytime I was on the org and everytime I tried to turn off the computer, it came back on and you all came back...

Red Beans and Rice

Ingredients

For red beans:

• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• 2 medium green bell peppers, chopped
• 3 stalks celery, chopped
• 2 teaspoons kosher salt
• 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
• 5 cloves garlic, minced
• 12 ounces pickled pork, cut into 1-inch pieces, recipe follows
• 3 bay leaves
• 1 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1 teaspoon hot sauce
• 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 2 quarts water
• 1 pound red kidney beans, rinsed and picked of debris

For rice:

• 3 cups water
• 1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 2 cups long-grain rice
• 1/2 to 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Directions

Pickled Pork:

• 2 cups water
• 1 cup apple cider vinegar
• 1/4 cup kosher salt
• 6 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 2 tablespoons yellow mustard seed
• 2 tablespoons hot sauce
• 1 tablespoon celery seed
• 1 bay leaf
• 1/4 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
• 8 ounces ice
• 1 1/2 pounds fresh boneless pork butt, cut into 2-inch cubes

Combine all of the ingredients except the ice and the pork in a 2-quart non-reactive saucepan, set over high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and maintain a simmer for 3 minutes. Remove from the heat, add the ice and stir. Place the pork into a 1-gallon zip top bag and add the cooled pickling liquid. Remove as much air as possible; seal the bag and place in the refrigerator for at least 3 days, turning the bag occasionally. Use within 2 weeks or remove from the pork from the brine and freeze.

Yield: about 1 1/2 pounds

I had a dream about JustErin once. I was walking somehwere around Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and bumped into her on the street. She got really seductive and coyly asked me to come back to her place. She invited me in and said she would come back in something more comfortable. When she came back she was dancing very seductively and asked me to come closer to her. Then Fauxie came from another room unexpectedly, and he got into a heated discussion with JustErin that lasted for several minutes. Then Fauxie said something that offended her, and when I tried to step in to calm things down, she screamed at me, "Get the fuck out of my house."

I tend to have dreams about orgers I have met IRL. About two times a year I have a dream with P in it. Nothing nightmarish, all happy and fun!

My favorite ever was threadcula's. So I went out and found it:

My Org Dream

So I've been spending more time on the org for the past few days. Naturally,I had an org dream. The last org dream I had was 2 years ago. "The org invasion that went terribly wrong"

Last night I dreamt,Purple Thunder & Karmatornado got married.
Everyone in GD was there.(I think I dreamt of Purple Thunder because I saw her pic right before I went to bed)

Anyway. The wedding took place in Purple Thunders's relatives backyard.
We orgers really crowded the place.
We all had a little party BEFORE the wedding (minus the bride)
Karma got very drunk,so did Dan (Imago)

The wedding started at 5:45pm. I sat behind Dan and next to Charlotte. Carrie and Anx sat next to each other. They were giggling a lot.
Dani showed up with her family. She had a bikini on under her dress and her kids brought pool toys. 2the9's told her it was a pool party.
And in the nicest way I ever heard someone say...I hear Erin telling someone to "Shut the F*ck up". I think she was talking to BlackAdder.

Purple Thunder wore a lavender wedding gown. She looked amazing! During the ceremony,Dan said something to Anx and Karmatornado heard him. In the middle of the ceremony Karma saunters down the aisle to have what seemed like the longest conversation in history.
He says: "Dan,I'm so glad you could make it. You're a good guy. Right on! blah blah blah"
Everyone's looking at him, waiting for him to shut up.(Remember he's drunk.)
Purple Thunder has this worried look on her face.
Finally Dan says, "Dude,shut up and get your ass back up there" Karma stumbles back up the aisle.

The vows are being said and we all hear a -click-.
The sprinklers come on.
Karma says, "Oh man, I'm really gonna catch hell for this. The sprinklers are set for 6 I was supposed to turn them off!"
Dani stands up and says "Ha! You f*ckers! Good thing I have my bikini on!"

We get drenched. But,the ceremony continues. All of the product Dan had in his hair was washed away. I hear someone quietly singing Purple Rain. I think it was Anx.
We go inside for the reception. Purple Thunder looks pissed and Karma looks so sad.
Nothing else happened after that because thats when I woke up

Because when I have a good dream I never bother to think about it... I just wake up feeling refreshed and go on about my day.

But even though I'm gray and no longer as rambunctiously hairy as I used to be back in the day, I'm still quite well muscled. And if I do say so myself my butt still retains its sassy nuances and come-over-here-and-grab-a-handful kind of charm.

Place the vegetable oil in a 7-quart Dutch oven and set over medium-high heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, celery, salt and pepper to the pot. Cook, stirring frequently, until the onions and celery are semi-translucent and the bell peppers are tender, 6 to 8 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the pickled pork, bay leaves, thyme, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, water and beans to the pot and increase the heat to high. Cook, stirring frequently until the mixture comes to a boil, approximately 6 to 8 minutes. Decrease the heat to maintain a simmer, cover and cook for 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes. Uncover, increase the heat slightly to maintain a steady simmer and continue to cook for another 30 to 40 minutes or until the beans are tender and the sauce is thickened to your liking. If you prefer an even creamier texture, mash some of the beans with a potato masher.

Prepare rice during the last 30 minutes of cooking the beans. Place the water into an electric kettle and bring to a boil. While the water is coming to a boil place the butter into a 3-quart saucepan, set over medium heat. Once the butter begins to bubble, add the rice and stir to combine. Add the salt and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Carefully pour the water over the rice and stir to combine. Decrease the heat to the lowest setting, cover, and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Serve the beans over the rice.

I made something awesome with my red beans

I did them in the slow cooker with bacon bones and then cooked up some green peppers and onions and tipped in the beans, seasoned with salt and pepper and some hot sauce and served with rice.

Simple but VERY GOOD

I have had numerous org dreams...I just had one the other night that I was visiting some orgers from the land down under.
