If you could change ONE THING about yourself...

If somehow, someway, someone told you that they could magically change ONE THING about you...no questions asked, no repercussions...but it was irreversible...WHAT WOULD IT BE?

It could be something physical, something mental, something emotional...but no going back.

Just one thing.

What would you choose?

question

If I could turn back time, I wouldn't have had a party to celebrate my 21st birthday. I still cringe when I think about it.

I'd looove to say my Crohn's disease....but it has lead me to certain people and life experiences that are priceless...so its hard to say....even the ostomy operation, as much as j fuckin hate that shit(pun intended). Maybe I'll go with blowing up to 295 pounds....irreparable stretching of my skin...its terrible now that I've lost a lot of weight.

Change something NOW, so you're good.

Doesn't undo past experiences.

I originally was going to post "grow six inches in height"...but then I'd get a fishslap from Serious.

Then I was going to say, "be aggressive" (since I'm naturally passive) but then I'd have to learn how to fight.

punch

So I think that I'll just say; "Be Confident".

nod

That's what I'd change, that I'm always questioning whatever choices I make and procrastinating when I'm uncertain. Sometimes the fear that I'm not doing the right thing can even paralyze my ability to act or cloud my judgement.

To be able to have full confidence in what I say and do. That's what I'd change.

you just gave me mine

i would stop procrastinating.

when i know what i got to do, just do it.

the other one is trust my instincts more. maybe they r linked. if i trusted my gut more, I might move on things a bit faster.

lol You are right about that and as you did not say it you get a hug instead mr.green.

And to answer the question if we are including going back in time and changing things we did in the past (see Lisa's post) then I'd know exactly what I would change.

But if it is about how I am personality-wise, how I feel and look then there are a lot of things I'd like to change and it's hard to pick just one hmmm. For many years I probably would have chosen to not be as light skinned as I am so that I could have worn other clothes and would not stand out as much as I do because of my complexion sigh. Now that at last I tan a tiny bit I have come to peace with that more or less. What I still hate is that I have no talents at all in in sports, singing and dancing pout. I don't even want to be good, just not as bad as I am lol. And I'd love to not get travelsick, because that stopped me from a lot of nice things I could have done in my life and makes me quite an outsider at times pout. But I can cope with that better these days too. I would love to have a better orientation sense because mine is really embarrassing boxed. But I guess the one thing I would choose would be to be stronger and tougher emotionally and also physically (health-wise) and I would want the ability of letting go and thus have a chance to find happiness in life again one day.

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Well then I would do the Crohn's disease...make it go away a disappear....then I would be able to undo the ostomy surgery w/o wasting a "wish" on that. The only thing that keeps me having it is the insistence on my Crohn's to ever be present.

EDIT:
U know....people always told me i would run into people who didn't give a shit about me having that. That "ME" more than makes up for it, or that people overlook that type of thing when more important factors r on the table....

U never fully believe it until it happens...there's always this cynicism floating around that people don't have that in them. Then, the true nature of humans wins out over ones perceptions of humans in your search for your place in the world and your vision becomes a grade clearer.

Wow! This took me a while! I thought of curing the ankylosing spondylitis, or not having ADHD, or being more confident!

But I have to choose to get rid of the loneliness.

I'm not even sure that's the right word, I have a hubby and 3 kids and like time to myself reading, on the internet etc...

But I must come across as strange or stand offish as people don't warm to me and it's really hard to make friends. The amount of times I've come back from mothers groups in floods of tears because everyone else finds it so easy,

that's what I'd change

I would definitely change my boobs so I could wear thin little strappy bras instead of harnesses that poke me and cut into my shoulders. sigh
