I thought the Buffy series finale was great--near perfect really.
I liked that Dollhouse "jumped the shark from what it started out as" because those first six or so episodes were pretty average. It was only through the middle of the first season that it became interesting.
If you didn't like the Angel series finale, you can read what happened afterward in the Whedon-supervised After the Fall book:

All My Children and One Life To Live were given cliffhanger endings. I understand they thought they might end up on webisodes but that all fell through so no true ending.
Full House wasn't given an ending either. I think ABC is the worst offender of the no endings. And they will bail on a show in a heartbeat. Shake it til ya make it

Lost.
Cerebus swore off discussing it minutes after the finale ended and he is going to stick to that for the rest of his life. It pissed him off THAT MUCH.

Love the Buffy finale.
Wish I could punch the guy in the face who decided to cancel Angel with so little notice. Joss has since said he likes the ending, but Cerebus says bullshit! It's not an ending.
And the comic books are confusing, too. Because the Angel comics weren't canon at first, but now they are, so you have to know which ones to read.

I think a show sometimes needs more than 13 episodes to pick up some steam. And then they start moving the show to a different night which usually indicates it's going to be canceled soon because people forget about the time slot move. I'm so thankful that none of my Wednesday night shows on ABC were canceled although I can't help but think Cougartown would still be on ABC had they just left it on Wednesday night. That's one of the greatest endings in TV history. So well thought out, so well executed and highly artistic.
A brave and successful move by David Chase.
It just requires a bit of a thought process....that's why some people initially complained......they had to think. BLASPHEMY! This Post is produced, arranged, composed and performed by WetDream

i can't believe they cancelled topless darts on live tv. they even closed the bloody channel. they never let the story play out to it's natural ending

The 'Roseanne' finale was a mess too. Actually, the last season was a mess. The lottery? Really? I take that back, the last TWO seasons were a mess. Jackie got too cooky, the kids were grown and got unfunny, Roseanne made everybody and their mother gay, and her public castrations of Dan became redundant.
And let us not forget Sarah fucking Chalke. Becky's ass should have stayed gone if Lecy couldn't completely reprise the role.

The ones to read are the ones with Joss Whedon's name on the cover (issues 1-17). The issues after those I believe are not canon. Dark Horse then acquired the rights to the Angel characters and launched the series Angel & Faith that runs alongside Buffy season nine both overseen by Whedon.

I liked the actual last line of Seinfeld.
The last episode was a fine idea, it just was not terribly funny. But for society to realize that they were terrible human beings and lock them away is pretty cool. My Legacy
