Your name if you hadn't been born the sex you are

I didn't know how else to say it! lol

Especially before being able to find out the sex of an unborn baby with ultrasound, parents usually had a boy's name and a girl's name picked for their little bundle of joy.

I'm really glad I was born a baby girl. My mom told me that if I had been born a boy, my name would have been Glen Alan. * whofarted *

Do you know what you would have been named?

Ya know... I don't know if my parents just didn't have names picked out or if they only had guy names picked out, but they didn't have any girls names ready, and they didn't know they were having a boy. However, I was almost named Benjamin Joseph, and they switched it to Christian Charles instead.

My mom had thought I was gonna be a girl so my name would've been Leticia (which is the Spanish version of my mom's name). lol She ain't Spanish but that would've been a cute name anyways especially if I was a woman. razz

Depends on whether or not I get big boobs. If I get big boobs then Charolette would be my name.

Had I been a boy I would've been called "Sam Ali"....

My mother still calls me that now and then.

The other contender for a female name was "Victoria". lol

If I hadn't been born a boy, then I would have been born a girl. If I'd been born a girl, that means that my mom wouldn't have married my dad, but might have married the other guy that was courting her at the time she got engaged to my dad.

If she'd married THAT guy, my name would have been...

...Lisa Marie Presley.

My mother and father met in the Bay Area...on their first date, they rode the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transport) subway or whatever it is up in Frisco. Eighteen months later, I was on my way and my dad wanted to name me Bart...not Bartholomew and Bart for short...just Bart. My mom refused...thank God!

Had I been a girl, my mom would have named me Rosalyn. Again...thank God!

My mom always wanted a boy named Michael, but my dad had a baby by another woman before they were married, and she named her son Michael. redface

They thought they were having a boy when I was on the way, so I think my name was supposed to be Alexander (my Dad's middle name). They had no girl's name picked out, so the doctor suggested "Lynn".

sigh No thought, just, "Okay".

We didn't find out the sex of either of our children during the pregnancies, preferring to be surprised at birth. My wife, who'd come from a large family of all girls, was certain that we'd have nothing but boys and sure enough, our first child was a boy.

So for child number two, she was so certain it was a boy that we hadn't even settled on a girl's name. Imagine the doctor's astonishment when she asked what the name of our brand-new daughter was, and we each said a different name!

So my wife and I voted on the name, and she out-voted me 1 - 1!

I was sure each kid would be a girl, but to avoid disappointment I found out for second and third kid. Ultrasound technician thought I was hysterical, laughing like a hyena at the little dude's willies waving around like seaweed in there

I would have been a "Jr" for sure.... Ramone Junior.... they would have called me "Junito" or "LIL'ray" as a damn nickname.

shake

My no account father took off and abandoned me and my older sister since my mom didn't give him a son. My fathers next child born after me is a son and his name is.... you guessed it! Ramone Junior.

barf

I am so glad I am not my father's name sake and she should have given me her maiden last name and not the last name of my father even though I was his ONLY legitimate child born.

I now will have another sibling born soon... I am 41 and my father empreganated a 23 year old stripper. What a creepy guy my father is. disbelief Women need to RUN from him.

My parents gave in to my sister begging them to have a little baby brother and that's why I exist. Even though when I finally was born she had already changed her mind that a tent would be even better than a little brother, but it was too late falloff.

She wanted her brother to be named Martin and that's why my name is Martina biggrin .

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I did the exact same thing. My husband said he didn't need to know because he already knew. It got it right with our first child, our daughter Madeline, but wrong with our second child, our daughter Morgan.

I just think that it's one of the last true surprises left in the world, if you let it be.

My older brother was given our mom's initials, 'SG'. Then, I was supposed to be given my dad's initials, 'IJ'; but at the last minute my crazy-ass mom freaked out and demanded that my middle name needed to be 'Craig' for some reason (bleargh).

Strangely, knowing none of this at the time, I legally changed my name when I turned 18 - and the name I picked gave me the initials... 'IJ'! Weird.

So if I'd been a girl, I guess my name woulda been 'Irene Craig', or something. lol

Still wonderin' who this 'Craig' sumbitch was... mad

Yikes. Try Bethune. For very good reason and all, but still.

Anyway, nobody ever told me, so I'll guess Don or William II

Ah man, I totally like Bethune. Obviously you could have just been Beth. But Bethune sounds cool and it's a really old name. nod

Ezekiel could be Zeke. I like that one, too. nod

Cerebus is thinking it's probably a good thing he'll never have to name a child. lol
