Wait until he jacks off his guitar at the end, and it looks like the guitar is cumming all over the audience. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Woman Finds Diamond Ring In Capri Pants From Goodwill
A diamond in the rough, indeed.
Deb Thompson went to her local Goodwill in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, in search of some bargain capri pants. She found a pair for $3.99, drawn to flashy fake gems that adorned the pockets.
But Thompson was shocked to find real bling inside one of those pockets. "I put my hand in the right pocket and I felt something," Thompson told KSTP-TV. "I opened my hand and we both went, 'Wow!'" Thompson's bargain capri pants had been hiding a diamond ring -- a ring one jeweler in St. Paul appraised at somewhere between $5,000 and $6,500, according to the Star Tribune .
Instead of cashing in on her surprise find, Thompson says she wants to find the owner and return the ring."This is truly a good Samaritan story," said Lisa Ritter, the marketing director of Goodwill/Easter Seals Minnesota, to the NY Daily News. "We have 2 million visitors go through our donation drive-throughs every year."
The Minnesota Goodwill posted an inquiry on their Facebook wall asking if anyone could prove the ring was theirs. As of Friday morning, the post had generated more than 260 comments, including a mix of people applauding Thompson for doing the right thing, sharing their own lost-ring stories, and claiming the ring is theirs.

I don't know if I would try to find the owner. Times are hard.
My sister used to work at our local Goodwill, and she said she was always finding large amounts of cash in purses, shoes, and clothing that people had donated. She was'nt allowed to keep what she found though, all that went to the store. [Edited 6/25/12 21:09pm] Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

That's what Goodwill said. She isn't obligated to find the owner, she just is. Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

I like how they got a whole bunch of people calling to claim it. That cracked me up. Like, "Well if that lady is gonna be dumb enough to give it away!...."

That's just it! What is the point in trying to find the owner, when there is never going to be a way for someone to prove that it it their ring. Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

She said she won't give it up unless they can prove it belongs to them through insurance filings (coverage or a claim it was lost). Which means she'll probably end up keeping it. But at least she can feel good about trying to find it's owner before she cashes herself out.

I am Goodwill/St. Vincent DePaul/Treaures-n-Things, etc. addict. I have found some amazing things over the years. And even if you don't like 'used' clothing, there are many items with the tags still on.
If you take the time to look through the junk there are treasures there. Sometimes I am dumbfounded and think, "Why in the world would people just give this stuff away?"
I bought a Nine West wallet once for .99 and took it home to find a $20 inside.
I bought this vase at St. Vincent De Paul in WI for $2. I knew it was handblown and noticed it was signed and numbered on the bottom. Took it home, looked up the artist and emailed him. Sells for $200. http://www.blown-glass.com/
Found this brand new set...retail at BB&B for $40.
Many things I sold on eBay but I kept that vase. I've found vintage Oscar De La Renta shades ($3.99), designer shoes, a glass-top bistro table set for $30. After I painted it it looked brand new. I believe in recycling the planet and this is my contribution.
Saw a guy looking at this and he didn't know what it was. But I did! An IKEA floating shelf.
Bought it for $4.99 and everything you see in this hallway came from Goodwill.
Bought these, painted them...hung them up.
Okay I quit. Got carried away. Sorry... "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

^^ It's true, there are some good things to be found. I have re-sold items out of Goodwill,Hospice, and the Senior Center. I have found many pieces of sterling silver jewelry that was just put with the junk jewelry. I guess they either just have so much to process that they can't catch all the good stuff.

True...or else the people who work there are just not that diligent. Which is good for me! I bought a purse once and took it home to find an almost brand new bottle of Chloe' perfume. Not cologne...perfume. Of course I was somewhat paranoid of what was actually in the bottle so I sprayed it on something else first.
I believe in resurrecting stuff...
I think the weirdest thing I ever sold was a full unopened bottle of Coke with a listing on the bottle of University of Virginia Cavaliers Peach bowl games from 1984. I found it at a Dig & Save for .25. Why I bought it? I don't even know. I wasn't even going to put it on eBay but I did. Some guy that went to that school back then bought it from me for $40. Go figure... "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

I got George Michael "Faith" on vinyl at Goodwill. And Wham!'s "Make It Big" too. As far as clothes, I think if you're a woman who's not thin, it's harder to find them without digging, digging, digging. Same with stores like TJ Maxx. And I'm so not a digger. So not much luck in that department. One more incentive to lose weight, huh?
Thrift stores are great places to go if you're decorating your home and are feeling creative. You just have to be able to think outside of the box. Shake it til ya make it ![]()
