A FLORIDA man was arrested today after stripping down, biting a chunk of flesh from another man's arm and resisting repeated attempts by police to subdue him with a stun gun.

Charles Baker, 26, went to his girlfriend's home to visit his children on Wednesday night while under the influence of an unknown substance, WFTS-TV reported.

When Mr Baker arrived, he barged in and began yelling, taking off his clothes and throwing furniture.

Jeffrey Blake, who lives in the home, attempted to restrain Mr Baker, but Mr Baker fought back by biting a chunk of flesh from Mr Blake's arm.

Mr Blake managed to restrain Mr Baker until two police officers arrived on the scene, though Mr Baker refused to respond to the officers' orders.

One deputy deployed his electronic control device after giving a verbal warning.

But Mr Baker resisted the shock, prompting the deputies to use the device three more times before several other officers arrived on the scene and were able to subdue and handcuff him.

Mr Baker was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton for evaluation before being transported to the jail.

It was not immediately clear what substance Mr Baker had ingested, but Florida has played host to a recent spate of bizarre acts by people under the influence of synthetic drugs marketed as "bath salts".

Other attacks:

A man stripped naked on a... the drug. He was then killed by police.

A US man admitted to eati... roommate

Canadian porn star suspe...it online.

"who need the exercise"..lol

This is purely a guess, not an educated answer...

If he was on bath salts, it seems like when things get real heavy, people on that stuff are tapping into a very primal part of our psyche, almost as if they're reverting to base animal instincts. In that state of mind it seems logical that you would use your mouth, or your teeth, as a weapon, be it for self-defense or a full-on attack.

Again, that's just a guess. But if all these people really have been on bath salts it definitely seems like that stuff is activating a part of our minds that we'd be better off leaving alone. lol

----------------------------------------------

Totally random aside...

Some friends were discussing this stuff the other day - friends who are not of the "old school" variety - and they were making comments about how, "those people are hallucinating", "they're tripping out (guy actually said tripping out lol ) like they're on acid". Now Cerebus did one of those, "uhhhh.... wow... how should Cerebus respond to this?" kind of things in his head. lol In the end I just asked if any of them had ever done acid, to which they all said no. confused When they asked if I had I just said, "yeah" and left it at that. lol The shit that's happening to people on "bath salts" is NOTHING like what happens on acid. It's sounds much more like a very, VERY BAD PCP experience.

Good point. I also read somewhere that using bath salts even once can cause long term changes in brain chemistry. That may or may not be true but why take the risk?

In my younger days i was reckless and did just about every drug out there, but bath salts scare even me. Adults shouldn't be using that mess let alone teenagers.

I've always wondered why some people can take hard drugs(PCP,LSD)and be no worse for wear and other people try a drug once and suffer permanent mental problems. It's not worth it.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

SCAR-REEE. What the heck ever happened to eating a couple pot brownies and kicking to listen to music in a bean bag chair? ??All this new stuff people are doing these days...stuff that makes you crawl around buck naked like a centipede chewing on faces and and junkyard debris...crazy shake .

I would think that the news stories alone of what this stuff has made people do would work as PSAs for why you shouldn't mess with that crap. There is no euphoric feeling in the world worth the risk of chewing somebody's weenus off and chasing it down with a few bits of brick and grass in the process hmm

Lawd. disbelief

These drugs are just insane. Weed, coke, heroine, they only effect the person doing the drug. These don't. This is starting to happen every week disbelief

Reminds me of this great episode of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" where Danny DeVito convinces a couple people that they ate human meat, and makes them think it's addictive.

They slowly go nuts.

LMAO.
