Rereading those early John Byrne Alpha Flight issues from the 80s, there were so many clues that Northstar is gay, but it just couldn't be stated explicitly because of Marvel's then 'don't ask, don't tell' policy.

Oh hell naw....they need to leave well enough alone. I like my spidey as a dorkey, white, hetero, nerd. Next they'll be making Wonder Woman an asian tranny with blonde hair. Phooey! All they have to do is create NEW characters instead of changing old ones. New is so much more appropriate and profitable.

DC comics should leave it alone. If they are so hell bent on creating a gay

character why not just add a new character to the series. It would be shitty

if they made an established DC character whom people have loved for

generations into a gay character.
