Oh, I'm sure there's some miniscule health benefit that could possibly be obtained in other ways attached to why this is necessary. But generally babies breastfeed cause they ain't got no teeth to chew, I think teeth are nature's way of saying "it's time to start cutting the umbilical cord" those were extreme beneficial at one time too, but enough does get to be enough.

I believe, after 8 months, there is no longer a health benefit to breast feeding. The baby has all the antibodies he/she needs and the mom's cycle & hormones have been regulated and she is supposed to be back to her pre-baby weight and ready for another bun in the oven. Actually I've read it takes a year for body to completely recover from childbirth and be strong enough to do the shit again.
