Coonskin is a wicked satire on how Hollywood (particularly) Disney, has portrayed different groups. Folks who call it racist don't get it. Both Spike Lee & Quentin Tarantino have praised the film.

Harlepolis

Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton boycotted INSIDE the movie theatre while the film was playing lol I'll be damned.

TBH, it was a hard film to take @ 1st. But it became a fave among many. I just wish it gets remastered though, makes no sense that most of the director's films got remastered except this.

My auntie didn't think it was too funny....everyone rose did. smile

nod

Coonskin is very underrated. Barry White & Phillip Michael Thomas were two of the voice actors.

i luved this movie. the animation was so artistically zinged out and far ahead of it's time. wizards was released in 1977. so worh seeing for it's insight into the near annihilation of a race of fairies caused by evil and hatred from a meglamanical mutant being.

so weird me and a housemember were talking about this movie this very evening.

yep, luved it!

The artistry and visuals are spectacular. The messages in its layers are interesting and phlisophical. His films are very strong and does take your mind and eyes to places where some may find disturbing and wild.
