We just can't come up with our own shit to put on film: SILENT HOUSE I saw this trailer on tv tonight:
And was like because we just watched this last week:
Here's the thing...I TOTALLY appreciated the effort of the continuous shot, but trust me when I say, the movie ain't terrifying in the least. Certain genres, like horror, benefit from editing, IMO. Especially when you watch someone look for a key on the floor for like 10 minutes. Yeah, I get it, it's "real time" (oooooh!) but still, bitch was crawlin round lookin for a key for 10 mf minutes.
I think the continious shot would probably be most effective on adaptations of stage plays.
That said, I appreciate the camera work (the camera man is as much a performer IMO in this sort of film) and certainly the girl in the Spanish version was very very good.
And for the simple reason that I watched the original (underwhelmed as I might have been) I will now have to see the US version just to see what they've done with it.
But really, can't we just come up with our own shit??
Spain and France are kicking our asses fiercely in this genre. [Edited 3/7/12 22:19pm] | |

This commercial for the most part is one continuous shot. They did edit the continuous shot-To not be totally cont-but close. My point being is that Charlize is hot and with editing the continuous shot can look more interesting.
