He did a lot more than just steal a car. If you have time, Goggle him and read all the stuff he's done and been through in the last 10 years or so.
This guy is no angel but reading between the lines, I'd say he pissed off the wrong government agent.
They have been relentless in getting Dykstra behind bars.

This is part of the problem....
Oh he just shot someone Oh he just sold some crack Oh he just broke into someone's home
The man stole a car. Something that someone has worked hard to buy and pay for. He deserves what he got. [Edited 3/6/12 6:20am]

You need to read up on him. He didn't steal someone's car. He phonied up the application for some cars he leased. When he drove off with one, that was called "stealing" because he obtained the cars under false pretenses.
But he's still a real bad guy.

It doesn't matter how he got the car, my point was that he did a crime and should pay for it. 3 years seems fair to me. If people actually had to do time for their crimes, there would be less. I live in Canada and our laws are a joke - hence, more crime.

This should be mandatory reading for anyone about to sign a major league contract (and they should be tested on the content - to make sure they've absorbed it!).
