there'ss nothin wrong with that, if they accept that ther's nothin

wrong with bein US, just as we are. i don't look to turn the other cheek

come to racial differences, because my voice is just as strong

as any voice that rises against me, yet there are many that stand

with me in mine.

comedian or militant, we all have a good laff at the end of the day... lol

Yeah, I know they were different times, but some things still persist. In light of that, my preference would be to see those comedians not perpetuate the same opposition you're talking about.

But, hey, they're grown men. That aside, I agree with a lot of what you're saying.

At the time Belafonte, Poitier, Ossie and Robeson were out and about, they were fighting for equal rights. They werent even allowed to say the things Jamie Foxx and his Foxxhole crew were saying. Eventhe comics of that era Redd Foxx, Moms mabley, Slappy White, Timmie Rogers, Nipsey Russell, Hattie Noel weren't allowed to say those things. That was pre-Richard Pryor, pre-Rudy Ray Moore, pre-Lenny Bruce.

. . .they weren't allowed to say it on record at the very least.

But you never heard Sidney Poitier using the airwaves to go after an up-and-coming actor.

That wasn't dozens, that was beef. And it's sad to watch.

If you ever in a frat room and go to a party and you leave it stone faced drunk, don't let some blond stoner scribble shit on your body or have his nuts near your mouth. lol You will NEVER live it down. I was also like "the hell?!" when Johnny said that like Kevin was. lol

negroes were funny like that back then,

if they were PUBLIC with it WHITES wouldn't

let them work except to do harm to negoes.

NOW TODAY we have our own industies...

OPRAH will never back paul mooney's show

but then she also chooses to speak on racial

injustice only as far as it suits her pupose to do so.

and she is the one who said, on her way to africa

Well, their wasn't a lot of black up and coming actors at that time ... And he wasn't a comic.

Jamie Foxx and Kevin Hart don't have any beef with each other.

unfortunately, there still aren't a lot of them. lol I mentioned Poitier as a Best Actor Oscar Winner by way of comparison. Foxx is in very elite company.

I trust you're right on Foxx-Hart, but I recall Foxx (whom I think is one of the best entertainers in the business) "ethering" colleagues before.

lol

This is about their roast. I bet some people don't even know that back in the day, blues singers used to do comedy records, or dozen records too.

Lightning Hopkins did a dozens record though he always said "I don't do the dozens." lol

Black folks been saying shit that Kevin & Jamie were roasting to each other about for years. This is more politically incorrect.

Anyways, I loved it when Kevin mentioned that Jamie's hair line was as fake as Steve Harvey's. Hell we've been saying that for years that their hair was fake. lol

I know the history but I thought this broke out off-air. This was dozens on rocket fuel.

I did for the same reason. I get Foxx is a comedian, but he has a platform to do so much more.

Everyone on the Foxxhole gets it like that. Its all in good fun. I do this everyday at my job, when I get home with my boys. In school, lunch wasn't about eating it was about gettin on someone, good times. Foxx does do a lot with his sucess. He recently produced the failed Affion Crockett series, had the Laffapolozza series on Showtimes for comics, ect. Watch someof the Dean Martin roast and the roast of Richard Pryor.

LBC. . .I understand the dozens. I understand roasts.

It didn't sound like either to me, but if that's how they roll, that's fine.

And Foxx has used a "roast" to destroy a career before.

Jamie said when he was a young comic, during a roast Billy Crystal destroyed him.

And Doug Williams has gotten more work after that roast than before. He is the host of Martin lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-Up, the series on Starz Network.

Okay.

"I think a lot of people read more into it than it was. It was a roast, I'm not a roast-type of comedian. The situation just kind of caught me off-guard. I was new at the time. I was new to that environment. I was new to roasting. It's one of those things that happened and I'm better for it. It was a long time ago, I've learned a lot since then and I've come a long way since then." He added, "At that time, Jamie Foxx was an established well known comedian. Nobody knew who I was. It was a situation where no matter what happened, I wasn't going to get the best of him in that setting."

Doug Williams, LAist

He rebounded well, but he was LaBradford Smith to Foxx's Jordan at that time. This was a roast, but it wasn't staged.
