Popeye's has some GOOD friend chicken. drool

Never tried the rice & beans though.

Does anyone remember (or still have a) Roy Roger's fried chicken??? drooling

They also have THE BEST french fries IMO.

All the restaurants in NY closed (I think there may be one left in Penn Station)...but there's some in the Rest Stops on I-95 (that's the main North/South Interstate highway on the East Coast for my foreign friends)...sometimes when taking a trip, it's timed just-right and we can stop off and get some Roy's for lunch.

cloud9

That Chicken looks dry as hell.....but yes, I remember Roy Rogers. The closest thing we had to them was the fried chicken sold at Hardee's.

Roy's is always great.

INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH...the reason why there's no more Roys on Long Island is that HARDEE'S bought the chain with plans to expand up here, but then ran into financial troubles and sold the locations (not the chain)...so all the old Roys became Wendy's, Boston Market or something else.

I will never eat at Hardee's because they killed off my beloved Roy Rogers. mad

I didn't know they were that far north, I remember them in Maryland and Virginia.

Hardee's died when they were acquired by the company that owns Carl's Jr.

I hate to sound like a snob, but if you've ever lived in the American Southwest, Taco Bell is dog food. Chipotle is a little closer to actual food

If you're in Kansas or Louisiana, there are Taco Tico locations! biggrin Taco Tico is underrated and it's a shame that fast food clain didn't have mainstream success as Taco Bell did.

That plqce OS fuckin disgusting...straight up...fucking disgusting. There's one 3 blocks from my apt. Anyone I know and met has been told the same. There's no kitchen...its a wall of microwaveable. Call it underrated...its hard to underrate shit...I mean shit is shit. As shitty as taco bell is...taco Tico is worse than some school cafeterias. Id rather get a burritos off a roach coach.

Their red beans and rice is the best I've ever tasted, including restaurants. It has a very strong seasoned flavor where most places taste bland.

I feel bad for your b/f...hehe....

Those r good but pale in comparison to some homemade red beans. Drop a ham jock in there...dice up some onions and a little bell pepper....dice up/brown some little smokies/cocktail sausages, slice up/brown your fave smoked sausage render some Bacon and throw that in with a little of the Bacon grease to help the beans cream up....yim fuckin yim....simmer for like 4 hours and u're golden, simmer till the beans pop and everything gets creamy and delicios.....a little to a butload of tobasco....yim him...I make a big pot once a month and it mKes like 8 servings....freeze em all seperate and dose it out throughout the month. I'm a bean eating fool!...I make em better than my mama(shh...don't tell her I said that).
