I tried watching this show to see what all the fuss was about - I couldn't get through it. But to each his own.

2 broke girls, new girl, whitney, chelsea are you there, mr d, the increasingly poor decisions of todd margaret, the middle, blue mountain state, raising hope, are some of the other good comedies

last man standing is shite though, and man up, and that cross dressing one that was cancelled after 2 episodes

parks & rec, happy endings, house of lies and californication are other great comedies. so is shameless, but some of them aren't sitcoms in the usual sense

I honestly thought it was the right time to introduce more females to the cast, it stops Penny from being so isolated and gives more storylines to explore. The 4 male one female cast was fine for the first couple of years but they were starting to repeat themselves.

i'm all for more girls on the show, but it's about geeks who don't understand girls, and they all suddenly have girlfriends. it's not in keeping with the theme. they could have had a hot girl at college that one of them continously tried to ask out. having another hot girl for leonard was a step too far too (raj's sister). you would have thought penny would have some of her own hot friends or collegues to introduce

Are you saying there are guys who understand girls?

Bazinga!

And who says hot women don't fall for men with brains? Oh, wait - I see the problem. You equate "hot" with "less intelligent." My bad.

I totally disagree with you about the theme. It's about a group of particularly awkward geeks and how that dynamic affects their lives. It's not just about how they can never get women. Sure, their awkwardness doesn't help in that area, but a theme like that would be lame and it wouldn't last long. Plus, it's just not reality. I know it's a sitcom, but you don't have to suspend ALL reality.

I personally really like the show and where they've taken it in that regard. I love the way they are doing it with Sheldon and Amy who are both extremely logical. I think they need to have Raj get it together though because his bit is getting old, especially considering he seems so charismatic otherwise.

no, no-one understands girls. but it's not about guys who don't understand girls, it's about geeks who don't understand girls. geeks who in the real world would never have girlfriends, which is the point of the show

there's one thing about pushing reality for entertainment, but it's not as entertaining now with those girls in it. it's not as plausible a scenario, and it's not making for a better show. it's like how friends went shit when they all started getting hooked up. when shows jump the shark they aren't as fun

How do you know geeks would never have girlfriends? I've known plenty of geeks with girlfriends. There are girl geeks, you know - as well as non-geeky girls who just like brilliant and/or socially awkward guys.

another thing that doesn't jive: Leonard and Sheldon both Dr.'s share an apartment while Penny the Cheesecake Factory waitress lives on her own. She's suppossed to always be broke so in real life it seems she would have to to get her own roommate.

1) She probably has a one bedroom apartment, which would be less expensive.

2) Perhaps she did have a roommate at one time - and we just don't know about it.

3) She is broke while Sheldon and Leonard have plenty of money, suggesting that the rent in that building is not particularly high.

4) Perhaps Sheldon and Leonard like having a roommate, while Penny does not.

it's not a case of "all geeks would never have girlfriends". it's a case of those specific ones would never have girlfriends. howard with the bad dress sense and living with his mom and sheldon with his complete OCD who's not ever interested in girls. leonard is a decent bloke, so the idea of him getting with penny and raj's sister is reasonable, and that was part of the charm of the show. but getting girlfriends for two more at about the same time was a bad way to push in more characters that weren't needed

Nah. Sheldon would seem a bit of a stretch unless there was someone just like him, which Amy is. Howard was a guy who thought being overly sexual would attract women, but once he met a girl who genuinely seemed attracted to him he abandoned that tactic. Yea he dresses weird and lives with his mom but Bernadette is a geek too, who compared to many modern women dresses unusually as well. Besides just b/c she's hot doesn't mean she has high standards.

but sheldon isn't even interested in girls and they just so happen to have girlfriends all at the same time. it's too much of a stretch for the show and ruins it like the relationships ruined friends. it's the will they won't they that keeps people interested. don't you people know anything about tv shows?

Its obvious that Sheldon NEEDS a roommate that's the whole basis of the roommate contract.

Sheldon seems to treat the relationship as a social experiement more than a physcial need, which makes sense since all the other geeks are in or semi in relationships. He' trying to understand the reasoning behind such shennigans.

People as aloof as them sometimes don't know about materialism...
When Leonard first moved in, Sheldon had just a beach chair and a tv..lol
Leonard drives a beat up, regular old car...yet both always talk about traveling to various conventions across the country..

That's part of the charm of all four of them..they all should be ballin..but blowing their cash at Comicon is their thing instead of making it rain in the strip club...lol

Penny's apartment is only one bedroom...she always invited people to sleep on the couch if they stayed overnight

Not since the pilot. She basically has just moved into the building having moved from Nebraska to become an actress.

Yes that was the person who lived there before Penny moved in. They showed him in a flashback and mentioned him once or twice.
