Yeah, Cap looks awful. And agreed--I detest CGI. It has never looked good. I wish they would have left the Hulk out of it completely. Or hired a big actor to play him.

How can you hire a big actor to play a 7+ foot, 1000 lb. monster who can leap miles at a time? The Hulk has to be CGI. Plus he was an original Avenger, so you can't leave him out.

It's one of those problems that has always plagued the Hulk-on-film concept.

Lou Ferrigno filled the role back in the 70's but that BEFORE 6'-4" 300-lb behemoths were frequently graduating out of high school.

To make it "authentic" you HAVE to use CGI.

IMO though, they should do what Peter Jackson did with Gollum...they should find a 7'-0" tall person (scour the NFL, NBA or WWE rosters and you'll have plenty to choose from)...put him in a green suit and shoot the film with the other actors interacting with a real entity.

To put things in perspective...former wrestler and D-list actor Nathan Jones is an inch shy of 7'-0" tall...

...I don't see that it would take much to morph him a foot taller and 700-lbs heavier, the same way that Chris Evans was morphed into a 98-lb. wealking for Captain America.

i remember him..he was in the WWF for a eye blink lol

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I mostly agree with this. CGI just looks bad. Period. It's never been perfected. Maybe someday it will, but for now, it still looks like herky-jerky animation. (Although I'm not a big fan of Avatar, its special effects were probably the best of any movie, ever, so whatever technology they used I'm on board with, to some extent.)

I know the Hulk is 7+ feet tall and 1,000 lbs. in the comics, but when making a movie, they should focus on what will look and feel the best onscreen. When casting Wolverine in the X-flicks, they didn't go for a hairy runt with huge muttonchops.

Anyway, I'll give it a fair chance, but I don't love it.

I thought ol' Greenskin looked much better in the second Hulk film.

I "mostly" agree with that. Hugh Jackman did come close to being a "hairy runt with huge muttonchops". lol

The craft is being perfected with each installment.

Did you think that Gollum in LOTR looked "herky-jerky" though? Personally I thought he looked the most realistic out of all the recent wave of prominent CGI characters out there (Dobi in Harry Potter for example, was bad) and yeah, the Avatar CGI was very clean as well.

Did you see Peter Jackson's "King Kong"? He managed to make a gigantic gorilla seem reasonably "realistic". By now, with all the advancements in this field, I am hoping - PRAYING - that the latest version of the Hulk doesn't look so blatantly digital.
