I'm surprised that Drive was not nominated. Personally, I'm not too excited about this years nominations. I've only seen two and a half of the movies listed for best picture. I couldn't get through Midnight in Paris.

I'd love to see Viola Davis win for Best Actress but I know all they will do is just give it to Meryl Streep, yet again. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

Nice to see The Sisters in The Help representing though I have to agree that Streep will probably win Best Actress. Then again they might give it to Michelle Williams. You never know with the Oscars. |

A zillion noms for The Artist! We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

Just one nomination for Drive in Sound Editing . Ryan Gosling got snubbed for Best Actor, IMO. |

What do you mean yet again? She hasn't won since the 80s despite the 17 nominations. |

lol but it makes you feel like she won it every time. Hasn't she only gotten like 3? |

Best Actress is Margaret Thatcher vs Marilyn Monroe. I can see either one winning.
I give the edge to Thatcher. |

I'm afraid Clooney (who I can't stand) will win Best Actor. Unfortunately.
I want Brad to win just to see Angie and the orphans gloat in the audience. |

Im glad Rooney Mara was recognized for her role in The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo.

So what. It's already been established that the woman can do no wrong with acting...and yes I do agree that she is a great actress, but there are MORE GREAT ACTRESSES out here that need to be recognized for their work. Just sayin'. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

Her nomination was well deserved. It's too bad they couldn't recognize the movie for Best Picture.
I also think they should have nominated either Bridesmaids or Rise of the Planet of the Apes for Best Picture. They were probably more worthy of a nomination than War Horse or Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. Overall, though, this is a weak year for movies, with most of the nominees being art house films or vanity projects that didn't draw a huge audeince. Given that, I expect a lot of people will tune out of the Oscars this year.

I haven't seen it yet, but it seems like the kind of nomination that could pull an upset. |

I'd love to see Williams win. The movie was OK but she was great. |
