the Natalie Woods investigation

Anyone else kinda fascinated with this ?

I didnt care at all when she passed away ... not sure where i was on this planet .... etc ... maybe i was never a fan of her husbands ... but after hearing about it today ... and reading about it ... i am kinda surprised and fascinated .

Christopher Walken was on the boat too ??? were she and C Walken flirting before the mishap? Did she and her husband get into a horrible quarrel and he pushed her overboard ? Just kinda makes ya wonder ...

I just heard this, and it made me wonder if one of those two guys were under investigation. It was just the three of them on the boat, wasn't it?

Appropriate that ColAngus would post this too!

I remember it as a teen and there being a controversy of whether or not it was an accident even from my prespective it was kind of an odd circumstance. I liked Brainstorm too, or at least the concept of it, I don't remember whether it was a good movie or not, but I remember it.

A news article I read said that Wagner and Walken were fighting.

If I run across it again, I'll post it...who really knows which news article to believe anyway.

Besides the captain of the yacht, yes. He's the one who spoke up just recently and said he

lied at the time of the incident. That's why the case was reopened.

i did not read too much of the account etc . Not sure if there was another "female" friend of Christopher Walken there too ?

It did mention that Walken and natalie may have been flirting .... and some conflict arose .... between natalie and her husband . THen Christopher Walken went to sleep . When he woke up she was dead .

The new accounts are from the guy who was driving the Yacht . He says that natalie's husband told him not to look for natalie - so ... it makes you wonder ... did he push her off the boat ... or did he perhaps think she was bunking up with C Walken - that sly ole Col Angus ! wink

Natalie Wood Death Book Triggered Homicide Investigation

1117_natalie_wood_ex_marti_rulli_exNatalie Wood's death has been reopened as a homicide investigation, primarily because of a book written by the captain of the boat where Natalie Wood spent her last minutes ... a book suggesting foul play ... this according to sources close to the investigation.

We've learned Marti Rulli -- who co-authored the book -- has been in regular touch with the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. over the last few months. She has given Sheriff's investigators documents supporting material in her book, and we're told the Sheriff is so impressed he has assigned 2 full-time homicide detectives to the case.

In the book -- "Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour" -- Rulli and Splendour Captain Dennis Davern write about the night Natalie drowned. They say before Natalie disappeared from the boat, she was drinking and taking Quaaludes with her husband, Robert Wagner and actor Christopher Walken.

According to the book, Wagner became enraged when he saw Wood and Walken speaking, and smashed a wine bottle, yelling at Walken, "What do you want to do, f**k my wife? Is that what you want?"

At that point, Walken returned to his cabin and Natalie and Robert went to their state room. According to the Captain, he heard a loud argument between the couple and thumping sounds, and eventually silence.

A short time later, the Captain went to the deck and was told by Wagner, "Natalie is missing."

The book claims Wagner refused to let the Captain call the Coast Guard.

Wagner told the Capt. the dinghy was gone, along with Natalie, but some doubted that because she was deathly afraid of dark water.

The death was ruled an accident, but Rulli was like a pit bull since the book was written in 2008.

We're told the homicide investigators have already traveled to Catalina, as well as New Jersey to interview Rulli. They've also gone to Augustine, Florida to interview the Captain, and they're going to Hawaii to look at the Splendour.

update_bar

7:25 PM PST A source familiar with the investigation tells TMZ the Sheriff's Dept. has not called anyone a suspect in Wood's death. It is a general homicide investigation for now, and will take "a long time to complete." The source adds, supporting documentation in several books about Wood's death -- including Marti Rulli's book -- triggered the investigation because the witnesses accounts of circumstances surrounding Wood's death did not square with what they told officials immediately after her death.

We're told no one from the Sheriff's Dept. has spoken with Wagner, nor has an interview been requested ... at least so far.

7:08 PM PST -- Robert Wagner's rep released a statement to TMZ ... saying, "Although no one in the Wagner family has heard from the LA County Sheriff’s department about this matter, they fully support the efforts of the LA County Sheriff’s Dept."

The statement continues, "[The Wagners] trust they will evaluate whether any new information relating to the death of Natalie Wood Wagner is valid, and that it comes from a credible source or sources other than those simply trying to profit from the 30 year anniversary of her tragic death."

i remember her death. this whole story has always reeked of the unexplained, imo. and, when i see photographs of natalie wood i get the feeling she's all ghosty around the edges. i think there is more to the story than we know and hers was not an accidental death, but i hope chris walken wasn't involved

I'm sure her family cares to know the Truth regardless of the time that has passed. I've seen "West Side Story" a Zillion times and I played "Tony" @ a Boys & Girls Club production a long time ago. That was the first time I ever heard of Natalie. So Iwill definitely follow this case...

The truth always comes to light.

That's fair enough but not if an individual is accountable for her death.

Frankly speaking, I would like to know what motivated the captain of the ship into coming clean, after all these years? There is something up his sleeve and the police should be looked at as well, for covering this entire thing up, the first time. To bring it up, 30 years later just reaks of opportunity from the captian, right down to the police, with their, "Here's our chance to save our asses", attitude. There is something much more to this, then meets the eye.

I was in high school when this scandal came out. For years, it was suspected that Robert Wagner has something to do with her death.

I always felt in my heart that Wagner was responsible for her death in some way. Your wife missing, you're on a boat, and you refuse to let the captain call for help?

On a personal basis, no, I don't. From a humanistic stand point, it is intriging.

i always felt some kind of drunken violence resulted in her death and there was a cover up. poor natalie. if her fear of water had not been so thoroughly and impressively documented, i'd believe the accidental drowning thing. but, no way she would have tried to use a dinghy at night by herself.....

If you google her death and the rumors surrounding it....Wagner killed her because he was jealous that she and Walken were fucking. He wasn't jealous that some man wanted his wife. He was jealous because HE wanted the man that wanted his wife. Hollyweird! Whatever the case, this woman was murdered. Someboyd did somethin' on that night.

I don't know about that but there's old school rumors out there that he was tryna fight Natalie over some Chris Walken. Chris Walken remains mum on the reopening of Mz Woods death which is strange since he was there when she died or went missing. All kinds of shadiness with this story.

Man these old hollywood tabloid rumors are worse than what's going on today.
