Where did you attend college?

so my husband and i are both looking into college again. i've been researching grants for us, and i've found some good info. so far. but trying to decide which school we want to go to is the difficult part. there are soooooo many to choose from. so what school did you attend? or currently attend, and if you could do it all over again, would you still go to that college/university? also, do you enjoy online classes?

Beautiful campus (Old Westbury, LI).

Commuter school though, so I missed out on the whole "going away to college" thing.

pout

I am currently looking into online classes for a degree I wish to pursue for my current field of work.

Fordham at Lincoln Center in NYC.

If I could go back and do it over I wouldn't have taken the opportunity for granted.

Carnegie Mellon Univeristy - It's a great school for many subjects--design, engineering, drama, etc., but way too expensive now. If I had to do it all over again, back then, I would have still gone there despite the fact that it's in Pittsburgh. I needed to get out of New York City for a few years to really appreciate it. Thanks, CMU.

I went to SUNY New Paltz and I took a few classes at Lehman College, but I didn't get to finish the degree I was pursuing at the time. I'm going back to school for Nursing at a local community college. I think I should've just done that from the start lol shrug

I didn't go to a four year college. I went to a one year business college. If I had to do it again, I would study and take it a lot more serious than I did when I was only 18. I honestly don't know what I'd do though if I had to do it again because there used to be a string of schools like that in the mid 1980s and I don't think they exist anymore. Well, at least I haven't seen the advertisements for them all over the TV like they used to be and I do know that the school I went to no longer exists.

As for a four year college, I still wouldn't go because they are too expensive. I didn't go to one then for the same reason, plus back then I was young and stupid and wanted to totally be out of school as quickly as possible. But no, I didn't have the money to go to a four year college back then and nowadays when I would actually take going to school seriously, I sure as hell don't have the money.

I went to Rutgers University twice: (my avi! touched)

  • Rutgers College ('89) --BA, Psychology
  • Graduate School of Education ('11) --Ed.D., Social & Philosophical Foundations of Education

I also went to:

Yeah, it's really gorgeous. I thought it was really boring when I lived there, but now I find myself missing it at times lol I try to get up there a few times a year. We usually go to an orchard that is on that same road as Apple Hill Farms, Jenkins and Lueken Orchard, and pick apples and get a bunch of apple treats. Their apple cider donuts are the best drool

I don't know that it's nicer as I never went to Apple Hill lol redface We've been going to the same one for years. The views are amazing there though nod

New Paltz is very much a college town. I don't think it was fun for me 'cause I don't really drink and I wasn't into the whole frat/sorority thing. It was also odd because I come from a town that is mostly hispanic people and there were very few in New Paltz. I felt very out of place lol

thanks for the responses! we're looking into online classes, almost every college/uni. offers them. my husband prefers actually attending the classes in person, but with his work schedule it's just not possible right now. and his employer will not work with him on that. so, he'll have to do the online classes instead. we think we may have narrowed his search down to a few schools now to choose from. money is most def. a factor.

as for me i will be happy going to a community college, it's cheaper and the classes will be fine for what i'm working towards. just got to figure out which one? i wish going to school was free here like it is in brazil! confused
