I'm more annoyed by the underage kids that say it, seemingly ignorant of the weight of the word and the history behind it and simply see it as a "if you guys say it, why can't I" sort of thing.

I know I am going to get slated and flamed but............

and it is a big but............

One of the (many) problems with the 'ignorant' use of this word is "Rap" Culture. The "N" Word is used so commonly within this, now it may be all good and fine for Black people to listen to and sing along to, but what happens when it crosses over to a white audience? Bearing in mind that the majority of the Music industry - Especially Rap - is listened to by young people? These young people are not taught such Historical things as the Slave trade etc anymore, so we have an issue there as they do not know the meaning of teh word, yeah ok some may, but not all.

There was recently a comment made by someone on TV here in the UK and it got him slated and branded a Racist, however, the essence of what he was saying is exactly where the problem lies. The popularity of Rap music and Rap culture has dawned a new breed of youth following (White) who wants to join in to this "Black Culture" and "Become Black" so to speak.

I am in no way excusing the use of the "N" Words, I would never use them, but then again if I was singing along to a Prince tune and the "N" word was there in the lyrics, would I be ok to sing that word, bearing in mind I do know the history and am not using it offensively neutral confused

Oh and I do know it goes much, much deeper than what I am trying to say above, but I just wanted to add food for thought.

Nope, I'm almost 100% sure every school in America teaches that.

Bad Girls Club cast in 2010

it's shows like the bad girls club that glamourize fighting as entertainment. this violent display is also ghetto and violent as hell. so what's the message here?

is crazy violent fighting and pandemonium okay and acceptable fun on television? while fighting on the streets of the black ghetto is considered the only hella violence "in every way shape and form?"

and who ever that's holding the tv studio videocam needs to have his/her wallet punched the hell out of his/her pocket?

watch the following video. it's a total parralell in content to the female street fighters, 'cept it's an acceptable money making venture. and it's "entertainment?" this is also shocking and "ghetto as helllllll! [only it's in a controlled-money making environment, aka; hollywood's pristene 'bad ghetto-like girls syndicate] imo, there's little difference.

Not being in the US I wouldn't know. But I do know that throughout the years my Step Daughter has been at school, she has never done a topic on Slavery, well actually they did a 2 lesson topic once which didn't even scratch the surface of the subject.

When I was at school, our History lessons revolved around the Industrial revolution and nothing else, I was so pissed at that because I wanted to learn about Romans, Vikings, Wars and interesting stuff, not about some dude who invented the Shuttle weave lol

Life is short, don't be a dick.

It's funny that you've mentioned your concerns about YouTube because I have witnessed some videos and comments that shouldn't have seen the light of day.

And this is a HUGE part of it.

I don't know if I heard "One if by land, two if by sea" a hundred times or a thousand. Is that because I grew up in Massachusetts or is it like that everywhere? The greatest contribution to the colonies ability to be financially independent from England was made by the Satanic practice of keeping slaves. Sojourner Truth's book, which I still have not read, I think is titled "Diary of a Northern Slave". She was a slave in New York, not down South.

Long after slavery was to end the practice of bringing slaves over was still happening, AND THEY WERE COMING IN TO THE NORTHERN PORTS. This was in the 1860's and Lincoln had to seek the aid of the British navy to stop the practice for good!

Culturally, again, it's the slaves who take the European culture twist it up with their African and Native American ancestors culture and come up with something that is uniquely American.

The deal is we don't want to look at slavery because we want to see that it was the bright ideas of the founding fathers that made this country what it is today. In part yes, that twisted with a greed so great that the liberty and freedom of some was allowed to be stamped out of them at birth. The Nazi concentration camp survivors were not born, and brought up in those camps. Some slaves never knew a day of freedom, not one day.

Until we truly look at this "One Nation Under God" we will not get away from this rampant ignorance.

There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

BGC looks more fake than the WWE & TNA Impact at their worse.

You mean to tell me that there is a "fight" in almost every episode and not one member of the cast ends up in the hospital? GTFO of here Hollywood!

That's disgusting...read the comments on that video. neutral

That's just offensive. mad disbelief Even among the blonde-haired, blue-eyed porno slults affectionately saying how they want to suck n***** dick and want huge n***** dicks in their tight pussies, assholes, and mouth all at the same time, that's just wrong in all ways. In fact, it reinforces the racist sterotype about black males only being good for sexual purposes. And most of these young ladies are clueless about how derogatory that epithet is. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want guys going up around them using the B-word or C-word.

typing

That IS indeed offensive but aren´t those stereotypes and images perpetuated by black directors, producers and porn studs? I mean, I´ve seen flics where black porn studs actually TAUGHT white, non-American, East European pornchicks how to pronounce the word ni.....er correctly, and when she simply couldn´t get it right, they made her say it again and again, over and over.

Of course this is no excuse, but I think some of those snippets posted above are taken a bit out of context. In some cases, it was black "actors" or directors who basically instructed the girls to say the things they said.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

i agree. however: http://parenting.kaboose....ching.html

Media Violence: How Much is Too Much?

What your child is watching is another consideration. Teens tend to watch television programs with violence, sexual content and bad language, and nowadays, iPods and portable DVD players make TV shows and movies ubiquitous. The AAP linked television and violence when it made this statement: “Although media violence is not the only cause of violence in American society, it is the single most remediable contributing factor.”

most pre-teens and mid-teen age kids are glued to the multi-styled cubes for hours on end. heck remember when valley girl jargon was the thing. how many of your/our friends started talking nasally and perfected the cliche "fer-shur?"

so now its cutesie staged television w-ghetto violence? "GTFO of here Hollywood!"
