Ya know, I love the song Hallelujah (Jeff Buckley's version is still the best, imo, and the one most of these other artists heard first, judging by the way they sing it). But I'm really starting to wonder if anybody actually gets what its about? Its performed ALL THE TIME now for any kind of somber occasion, and often at celebratory ones, too. I'm assuming the reason for this is simply because the word Hallelujah is repeated over and over. That ain't what its about. Its just another (admittedly very beautiful) broken love song. Totally inappropriate for every single place I've seen it performed. Just, really weird.

I know, that's why I cried hearing her sing it. I think that she really conveyed (?) that feeling of a broken heart, at least to me she did.

The opening of the olympics was in Canada and the song was writtten by a Canadian and sung by a Canadian. I think that was the link for the Olympics.

imo K.D. lang can be classified as an "alpha female." she showed extreme courage when she shared her true (natured) self to the public, and came out as a lesbian in a 1992. me, i'd just like to be her friend.

however to do her? naw. i choose physical intimantcy with the human male to please and balance out my physiological-psychological and bio-cal nature. so to do-able , or not to do-able. i choose "not."

so anyway, back to the realness i feel of the women who courageously choose to be embrace their own psych and phsio realities,

i gotta testify this. i had the experience of working in a legal business that employed a sizable group of lesbians within a staff of almost 200 peeps . two of these women stand out in my mind.

the first woman came to my aid when an out of state family member of mine had a life threatening accident. my non-gay friends offered their true concerns which was nice. my lesbian friend however, entered my cubicle that same day with $50. worth of calling cards, telling me they were to help so i could stay in contact with the hospital before taking my flight. no expectations, she was being a friend.

some few years went by. the other woman friend of mine (at the same business) became a listening ear when an upcoming serious event was about to happen in my life. once again no expectations, she was just being a friend. we are still friends

to me, this is how i'd imagine k.d. lang would be, a friend with no expections other than kindness. (by the way her birthday is November 2nd.)
