He did a great job on the Oscars just a few years ago.

Don't recall. He was presenting an award?

I have a vague recollection that he was one of multiple hosts? I could be wrong

He hotsed the entire show I think.

Damn I'm getting forgetful.

He also made a comment that he was NEVER going 2 win an Oscar.

That did not go over 2 well.

I was watching Life a couple months ago and since then I've been pondering when Eddie will receive proper recognition from the academy. This is a step in the right direction...maybe.

I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

That is a pretty solid choice, I think

Totally agree. And in the Cerebus Fantasy World it would spur him into doing a standup tour. Dude was genius in that arena.

He hasn't hosted yet - this will be the first time. But he presented somebody with a special lifetime achievement award a few years ago (maybe the same years as Dreamgirls?) and he was on stage for a loooong time in the process.

He should have recieved recognition years ago by winning an Oscar for his incredible performance in "DreamGirls". I was lucky enough to experience him playing the role in person & he was electrifying & dedicated. He worked his ass off in that role. Really singing and dancing. Now will be his time to shine. Let them know the mistake they made.

True. It was a great performnace and he did it in a supporting role which impressed me even more. But honestly, even though his brand has changed considerably since he was the biggest film star of the 80s, there have been seveal underrated moments since that time: "Bowfinger" (I thought that shit was hilarious lol ) the "Nuttty Professor" films, and" Life" (the up-per rooooommmm!)

"Life" should have garnered Eddie his 1st Oscar Nomination. His first Oscar win should have been for "Dream Girls"...

Most comedians don't lose their Edge regardless of how old they get. 50yr old Ediie is still gonna deliver the Comedy like any other Seasoned Veteran..Joan Rivers is almost 80 and she's funnier than EVER..

Now that I think about it Joan should be the next Host. She'd kill the crowd...
