When it's 'too late'....

This is going to seem like a strange thread here but, have any of you ever genuinely had the feeling that it was 'too late' to find love or long-term relationship? Especially for women, the pool of men really shrinks each day that passes because more guys are married, old bachelors (who want to stay that way) or otherwise not good for a long-term relationship. Seems like I'm meeting more guys who want to mooch off me (in spite of me basically earning around what the govt considers the poverty rate). I really feel like it's too late. Emotionally and mentally, I'm not nearly as optimistic any more in that area of life and don't want to be an old mom. It's just too late...and please don't say "it will happen when you're not looking" because I haven't "looked" in 10 years and it hasn't happened, LOL!

I will never, ever understand this logic. There are always countless new people to meet...at any age and it's never too late.

Hey Just--yeah I hear you but it's not a logic thing, it's more like an intuitive "thought" like, I dunno, just seems like it's really "over". I've heard some women say this before and never understood it, but now I do.

Dating sites. They are all the rage.

I've never tried one, but I am sure somebody on this site must've. Probably with favorable results.

How exactly is it over then? You no longer go out and interact with people?

Hey Faux....true story here, I've met guys off dating sites who have either bragged about having friends who've gone to prison or one guy who "joked" about he dreamt about killing certain "famous people", it was horrible! LOL! I seldom date and it seems like no matter how much vetting is done ahead of time, they say something so off the wall that there's just no way I could ever deal with that level of craziness, LOL smile

Yeah I can see how that might dissuade you. What sorts of things are you into? What are your hobbies and stuff?

See, there's your problem. You can't do it by proactively not looking. Looking like you're not looking is never going to work. You have to actually not look, and then when you're not looking you'll look around one day and see that special someone has always been there, only you'd never taken the time to look.

Not really sure I follow what you're saying here but um, LOL smile Someone asked me about hobbies, well I like reading, going to museums, etc. but my work schedule is crap and I'm often working when people are hitting the town. I dunno, maybe under it all I don't want a relationship but can't bring myself to admit that to myself. I guess it's time to become the crazy cat lady smile
