The most offensive...

What's the most offensive thing someone has ever called you and why? How did you respond?

lol I don't remember exactly what he said, but I know what I did and I've decided I'd rather not post it in public. I thought about it for a few seconds. But I guess some things are better left as "umm" and "hm".

Been called a n----- several times in my neighborhood by old folks around here.

The most recent even happened with my daughter.

She was playing with one of her friends...

they are both 9.

she just bust out "Why does your mom look like a nigger? Is she black?"

My daughter just looked at me. She doesn't talk much.

It was an innocent question, but one that needs to be adressed.

I just told her to come inside the house since it was about to rain anyways.

I turned to her little friend and told her to ask her mom about that, her older sister was in earshot.

I said good-bye to the girls. I saw their mom the next day... she waved hi and rushed off. She seems to be avioding me.

I can wait... school starts on Sept. 6 and our daughters are in the same class. mr.green

The time before that was with my old neighbor upstairs. Miss Betty, she's like 100 and I like her.

She called me that when I was moving in. Told me I didn't belong in Southie. She loves me now. lol She sometimes comes over just to get coffee and brings her bowl when ever I make rice with peas. lol

lol NO.. Boston, Massachusetts. One of the most diverse yet segregated cities in the country.

Its much better though, but all my friends have moved down south because they think its really racist here.

I think its rare now, but some old folks here have issues... the ones I personally know, always come around. I still love Boston, but there are some mean bitches here. lol

In grade school some kid called me a big fat fag. I liked being fat and I didn't know what fag meant until like a decade later, and by then I knew better than to be offended by it anyway.

Otherwise, people have been pretty nice to me, at least directly.

I don't get called shit often. Had racist shit spouted my way, but those aren't really hurtful as it is never personal at all. It is just racist assholes doing what racists do and I happen to be a nearby minority.

I think the worst thing I've been told (and maybe it's just fresher in mind from another thread) is something along the lines of the tearfully shouted, "What's wrong with you? It's like you have no emotions about anything. You're a robot."

I guess the worst thing I have ever been called is a robot.

You bring up a great point because I never personalized it when racist things were said to me. But I would laugh because they thought they could hurt me by saying that.

The most hurtful stuff said to me was little comments made by my family members, because they know how to hurt you.

Being called ugly... too skinny... etc. hurts any girl while going through puberty. Escpecially if those comments are by your own sister, mother, cousins.... mean shit to do to someone who is younger and looks up to you. I never say that to my kids or other people's kids, I always build up, never tear down.

If I was you, I would have responded with, "Well, you got the Bitch part right. And this Bitch does not like your tone." (This statement would have been said to their face-up cloe and personal-so they get the point.)

Those words don't translate too well into English.

I've probably been called with the Finnish equivalent for the word "faggot" more than most homosexuals. Not that I would be terribly insulted by someone claiming that I am a homosexual, but what's always scary about it is that they think they have the right to invade your privacy and just insult a person they've never met. It just feels like you don't have the right to share the same public space as they do. When young men shout such things at you they're always accompanied by their friends, which just makes them a bunch of cowards. Like said, what's scary about is that they seem to think they have the right to do that.

I was quite effeminate-looking all the way up to my late-20s. When I was at my thinnest it was quite common that people mistook me for a woman. Or had to take a second look. Especially if they were drunk.

Little Marrocan kid called me a whore. I was offended because he was only 6 and so agressive to me, just because I was a white woman. His parents thaught him that, and that's what made me so sad.

My stephmom still degrades me, however, it's very subtle. She'll ask if that strange haircut is on purpose, or that I gained so much weigth, or whatever she can come up with. The most horrible thing is, that she doesn't realize she is doing that.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Anything racist, the actual words don't offend me but the fact, that the people who said them thought that they would, does.

Why? I don't know why, the people that said it were having a stupid argument with my friend so I stepped in and defended her, but I didn't insult them before they said it.

And I forgot how I responded, I probably said they were stupid for saying that, they had friends who were different races, and I might have called them whores.. lol I didn't take that argument seriously
