The controversial comments of some YT members are a thread in itself. But my focus in this thread are the VIDEOS that Google/YouTube has allow the be uploaded on the website.

Case in point:

White Girls and the N-Word (Part 4)

There are 6 parts to this video series of outtakes. But this video has a few outtakes from the porn industry. The majority of the other outtakes are a bunch of underage white women using the N-words (n****a & n****er). This was post on YT in December 2010 and has yet to be taken down.

I'm more annoyed by the underage kids that say it, seemingly ignorant of the weight of the word and the history behind it and simply see it as a "if you guys say it, why can't I" sort of thing.

and it is a big but............

One of the (many) problems with the 'ignorant' use of this word is "Rap" Culture. The "N" Word is used so commonly within this, now it may be all good and fine for Black people to listen to and sing along to, but what happens when it crosses over to a white audience? Bearing in mind that the majority of the Music industry - Especially Rap - is listened to by young people? These young people are not taught such Historical things as the Slave trade etc anymore, so we have an issue there as they do not know the meaning of teh word, yeah ok some may, but not all.

There was recently a comment made by someone on TV here in the UK and it got him slated and branded a Racist, however, the essence of what he was saying is exactly where the problem lies. The popularity of Rap music and Rap culture has dawned a new breed of youth following (White) who wants to join in to this "Black Culture" and "Become Black" so to speak.

I am in no way excusing the use of the "N" Words, I would never use them, but then again if I was singing along to a Prince tune and the "N" word was there in the lyrics, would I be ok to sing that word, bearing in mind I do know the history and am not using it offensively

Oh and I do know it goes much, much deeper than what I am trying to say above, but I just wanted to add food for thought.
