Because I'm an ugly, horny farang so having sex and not paying someone money for it just doesn't seem right. With my Thai bride, or Row 1, Number 4, 32 D, as I still sometimes affectionately call her, most transactions involve either handbags or buffalo and it all feels more like voluntary gift-giving.

Officially I'm unemployed as I don't have a work permit so let's just say I may or may not occasionally help with a few of my wife and her family's businesses. You could work as a teacher, though if you're not staying that long it'd be tough to get it all sorted legally and get the work permit pushed through swiftly enough. You could likely work as a teacher for cash in hand for a short time though, especially part-time in learning centres. Cost of living is pretty low so if you save a fair bit you should be good for a while here.

Would be cool to go out for a few drinks.

I first came out here in 2000, just traveling. Stayed a few months at a time over the next year (when I hooked up with my missus) and moved here permanently in 2002. We plan to stay in Thailand long term. It's an amazing place.

^ Yes i'm seriously considering doing a trip there as I love to travel and I think its next on my list!

I am also interested in maybe spending some time on a buddhist retreat there as well as sampling the the party scene?!

I'm not sure if you know but if you were to teach English do you need a TEFL qualification or does it depend on school to school?!
