...How do you know that that will be the case in order to state it as fact? You're going off of guesswork just like the rest of us, to be fair . And humanity has been here for a long time; it's not all that far-fetched to think it's possible we may still be here when the planet ceases. Anything is possible. I don't know if people taking that into account is necessarily 'arrogance'.
That aside, I actually did clarify what I meant, earlier in this thread - my actual question was how did people think humanity specifically, would come to an end. I used the phrase 'world ending' because that's usually what I hear it called by the population at large. When I realized that confused some of the members here, I went ahead and explained what it was that I was actually asking about. "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

Yes i am going on guesswork, and i am sorry i didn't pick up on your clarification, i don't have time to read every post on here some days. I think humans are very resilient creatures for all their self destructive flaws. I think they will be around for a while yet, but on the grand scheme of things. In the timeline of the earths existence so far we have only been on this planet a very very short time. A spit in the ocean. Not only that. If you believe in evolution you might be open to the idea that humans may evolve into another species entirely, thus by natural selection we will cease to exist. This seems to me anyway a more likely suggestion than a fucking armageddon style meteor. You yanks have been brainwashed by hollywood. Bring in Bruce Willis to save the planet, hahahahaha
