The 2011 NBA Finals Thread

Much as I hate Miami(this was long before 'The Decision'), it's hard to go against them with Bosh, Haslem and Miller stepping it up. Dallas has a chance only if they find a way to neutralize Bosh.

Heat in 6.

I'm not sure if I heard anyone in the media pick the Heat to win. lol Is it Lebron hate, or the way Dallas has been playing lately?

Oh, take that back, I did hear someone on the local sports radio station say that Bosh, James, and Wade would be too much for Dallas.

People are funny and seem to want to ignore the fact that Dallas has OWNED the Heat since losing in 06. They've played 14 times in the last 5 years and Dallas won every single game, including the 2 this season one of which busted Miami's 12-game winning streak. Yeah, I know the playoffs are different but a 14-0 record + Dirk playing the way he is in these playoffs = Dallas' 1st championship (I hope) beg

Dallas hasn't faced a perimeter defense or firepower that Miami possesses.

Miami hasn't faced a team with multiple scoring threats, or a player that is almost as as hot as their playoff star, until now.

I've been saying Dallas in six, but I dunno, if LBJ can stay motivated he will earn the title he gave himself.

They owned the Heat before 2006 too. Say thanks to the ref. No way should someone go to the line over 20 times a game. Wade avg more free throws than the whole Dallas squad.

NBA Finals, Game 1

Dallas 84 Miami 92

The Mavericks get hot during the first half with clutch 3-point shooting but go cold in the second half, while Miami's big three get hot down the stretch to pull the game away in the closing minutes.

Damn, I'm starting to believe what some people are saying about Miami now.

If they stay healthy, the rest of the league doesn't stand a chance for the next few years.

They are clicking on all cylinders. They go into beast mode every 4th quarter.

And this is so unfair. The people of Miami are such bandwagoners. There are so many cities that are more deserving of a superteam like the Heat. Like Chicago.

No city is deserving of a superteam.

Build up through the draft or a majo trade like the great teams of the past. Not three booty-buddy friends joining forces.

Jordan, Ewing and Barkley are probably closer friends than those 3 and they never joined forces except for All-Star Teams and the Dream Team.

Once Miami gets better bench players and becomes a complete team, the rest of the league better watch out.

The NBA has always been star-driven - you need at least two to become a legit playoff contender. All the hate for Lebron/Wade/Bosh is really tired. I didn't hear this whining about past superteams(Wilt's Lakers, the Showtime Lakers, Bird's Celtics, Moses & Dr.J's Sixers, Jordan's Bulls or the current Celtics). Lebron did what any American citizen has the right to do - to work wherever he wants.

I heard people whining and complaining about how it "wasn't fair" when the Bulls got Tony K. and Rodman, winning 72 games and had to play the Jazz back-to-back in the Finals. LOL.

This series will go 7 games, and when it does, the Mavs will win. Dirk, is a beast and is going to give Miami defense fits. Yes, I know, they lost last night but it's early.

nod Good D at both ends, but Miami certainly didn't dominate them. Dallas missed too many open shots and need to rebound a whole lot more. They looked kinda lost on the offensive end. They betta kick ass tomorrow night or else . . . confused

Oh and I see the refs were up to they pencilwhippin' tricks disbelief
