FreeHD Digital TV help

I need some help on this. I currently have Direct TV in 5 rooms in my house. I have about 6 other rooms that really need a TV but I'm not dropping any more money on Directv 4 those silly boxes they charge u 4 every single month.

So my question is this, if I purchase those Digital TV boxes, how does the digital signal get to the TV? Via the box without an antenna? Do I need 2 purchase a digital antenna? Can I purchase the Digital antenna without the digital box and connect it directly to the TV? I'm a bit confused on how 2 approach this as u can see.

Any help would be appreciated.

Let me asked you this, how long have you been with Directv. My reason for asking is, I had them for 7 years and because of that, I was able to get 3 boxes for free. I all ready have 4 boxes, so getting them for free was cool. The reason why I don't have them anymore, was because they could not find a signal, when I switched to HD. Call them and see what they can do for you. Just tell them, that you have been with them for "X" amount of years and is there anything that they can do, for you being so loyal. As for the Digital boxes, I believe they were in conjuction with a splitter.

I've been with them for 7 years. I could ask. Thanks.

I'm still curious about the Free HD stuff though.

There are channels that Direct TV does not get and quite frankly the HD picture looks cleaner.

I would asked them about what they could do for you. I am with Cablevision now, because the HD is free. Had Directv, been about to find an HD signal, I would have still been with them.
