Name the MOST & LEAST EXOTIC places you've been to?

Inspired by SCNDLS's "Cuba" thread...

What are the most and least "exotic" places that you have traveled to?

By "exotic" I mean unique, fun, strange, exciting, etc.

Don't include your hometown. I mean for this to be about places that you've travelled to.

question

Here are mine;

Most exotic; San Antonio, Honduras.

I was going to say Cancun, but on second thought, my trip to my dad's birthplace was truly unique.

San Antonio is a tiny little fishing village on the northern coast of Honduras. I went there back in 1982 (I was 12). It's a postcard-worthy locale; white sand, palm trees, fishermen going out every morning in canoes, and at the time there was no electricity nor phones. Not even a paved road (at the time you got there either on horseback or on canoe). Most people lived in thatched huts. The population is mostly Garifuna (actually I believe that my family were the only "whites" there). My grandmother's house was a stone's throw from the water. I'm dying to take my kids there before my aunt passes away and there's no ties for me left there.

From the internet;

Now, as for least exotic, I would say Lincoln, Nebraska.

lol

Went there on a business trip. Basically nothing to see but cornfields. Should I even bother with a pic???

zzz

Yes, if you like beautiful women, you will love Rio. They don't wear regular bikinis. They call them "dental floss," at least that's what they were calling them when I was there back in the 80's.

I guess I'm not a traveler, because I was ready to come home after about 4 days. The food was out of this world.

I suppose most people would consider Trinidad & Tobago to be the most exotic place I've visited. But having been there so many times throughout my life, its magic is now lost on me. I find European cities now to be much more exciting because of the history.

I went to university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. That's by far the least exotic big city I've seen.

In just the few hours that I spent in Miami Beach, I almost got whiplash from all the amazing Brazilian women walking around.

I guess Trinidad is much more exotic to somebody who comes from Europe than to somebody who comes from the USA. And especially if he has a Trini background and as Brooklyn has a large Trini population.

For me Trinidad is still a lot more exotic than all the other places I have visited in my life. Travelling for one month through South Africa without having booked anything in advance for example was much less exotic than the 2 weeks booked in nice hotels in T&T when I was there the first time. And it didn't change since then. Now that I know the country and the people a lot more it is still exotic to me in many ways. And carnival there just makes perfect sense in a way lol.
