Best Tats You've Ever Seen.

These wowed me, absolutely the classiest, most meaningful, well-executed tats I've ever seen :

Any cool ones you've seen?

No disrespect, but I don't get putting writing on your body. Neither one of the people you linked can read what's written on their body. If I had words I wanted on my body that meant that much, I'd put them in a way that I could read them - like on the inside of my forearm.

But the way they did it, they aren't saying, "These words mean everything to me". They're really saying, "Look at me! I think you should read this!"

Aren't most things we do to our body meant for other people to look at? Hair, make up, shaving, dieting & working out to a certain extent etc etc...

Sure, except that most everyone that's gotten a tattoo seems to have said, "This is something that is important to me".

I hear you but...I think it's like an affirmation. They already know what it says...they don't have to read it. I have "Dad" on the inside of my forearm! smile

I want to get another one...but where on my body is the question.

maybe you all can help me out here.

My idea is carnations, violets, and the Aquarius water jug with water pouring out over or around the flowers. Possibly ASE in there also..but maybe not.

This tat will represent my 2 sons who are both Aquarius, both have the initials ASE. My oldest son's birth flower is carnation and my youngest violets. their birth stones are garnet and amethyst (also red and purple)

so I have one tat on my left shoulder blade, and my "Dad" on my left forearm. Being this is for my sons...I don't want it on my leg...that just doesn't seem important enough. I dunno...I'm a bit weird about tattoo placement...I think they are masculine on the upper part of the arm, and I'm not fond of boob or breast tattoos but ...that would be kinda over my heart which would make sense.

ugh. perhaps my right forearm?

sounds like a large tat so I would either put it on the back of your shoulder or on the side of your thigh - some place where it will be visible and appreciated. I know you said you don't want it on your leg but that's a good amount of space to put a nice large tat.

Exactly! You have "Dad" right where you can look at it any time you want to. That makes sense to me.

Putting "Dad" somewhere you can't read it, or even see it (back tattoos? WTF?) doesn't seem to jibe with "I put this on my body because it's important to ME".

Or those are words that are so personally significant to them they wanted them on their body and don't need to be able to read them because they already know it by heart. lol

I'm just now seeing this post, I pretty much said the same thing a second ago lmao.

Text tattoos are my absolute favorite - I'd love to have a small cross and my mom's name, tattooed on my right shoulder blade, and 'courage' tattooed on my inner wrist. I also saw the lyrics to "The Inner Light" for the first time a few days ago and swore that if I ever got song lyrics tatted on me, it'd be those, probably along my side on my ribcage.

I should have separated my comments a bit. smile cause on one hand I was saying how I can understand that you don't always have to be able to read it because you know what it says, but on the other hand I can see why some tats (like my Dad one) you do want to see all the time.

there's only so much realestate though so...not every tattoo is going to be visable to yourself.

I have one on my shoulder blade that I can really see (unless I'm looking in the mirror) it's still important to me.

I have seen this one before. Yes, it is one of the BEST tats that I have ever seen. It is the perfect example of when life thows you lemons, you make lemonade.
