Not sure why because although I liked them, I wasn't a huge fan of them in the 80s, but Siousxie and the Banshees--the remastered releases.
Also, I've been spinning the Ministry of Sound Annual 2011 at the gym. After years of so-so releases, MOS finally has a release as strong as their 2003/2004 material.
Also, Radiohead's King of Limbs--I like it better than KidA and OK Computer (but I'm not a huge radiohead fan, so maybe I'm missing something when it comes to appreciating them).
Also, Prince's 1999 album. Oddly, after having ignored it for ages, I've listened to it in it's entirity (only skipping a few times), and realize that even though it was an artistic evolution from his previous material, it still sounded like he used Dirty Mind as his template. Like he took Dirty Mind, and layered it with New Wave layers to create a new album. But, then again, maybe I'm just reading too much into it.
Oh, and lastly, Lady Gaga's Fame-Monster. I great pop album, and i'm getting stoked about her forthcoming release next month. | |
