I don't really care what a pen looks like, feels like in my hand or what it cost. All I know is that I like a pen with a fine point that moves smoothly and quickly (no grabbing, dragging or scraping) across the paper. I think most of the pens I've loved were on the less expensive side.

I couldn't even find a picture online, but I love these pens. Borders Books, $6.99. Slim, light weight, ballpoint smooth as silk. I keep them everywhere.

They all came with beads, like on the purple one, but I tossed them aside somewhere.

I have a couple of these and I really like them. I also have some Watermen rollerball pens that I've had for years. I love them!
