The 2010-2011 NFL postseason thread Now that the NFL regular season is over, it's time to look toward the postseason and Super Bowl XLV. This will pick up from this earlier thread:
http://prince.org/msg/100/348101
Will the New England Patriots storm their way to another Super Bowl title? Or will the Steelers derail their plans and go on to win a record seventh Super Bowl? Or will the Ravens meet up against the Patriots again and pull off another upset? Will Peyton Manning show once again that the Colts are the team to beat, or will they be dethroned in the wild card round? Will the Jets live up to Rex Ryan's predictions and actually go all the way? Can the Falcons get to the Super Bowl by winning at home? Are the Saints going to march their way back to the Super Bowl, or will they lose on the road in rainy Seattle or a chilly Soldier Field? Are the Packers poised to make a dangerous run and upset a few teams along the way? Will Michael Vick lead the Eagles to an epic Super Bowl showdown against the Patriots in a battle for MVP? Will the NFC Championship be an epic matchup between two historically bitter division rivals from the NFC North? Do the Seattle Seahawks or Kansas City Chiefs have any prayer of making it to the Super Bowl? Discuss.

This has been THE oddest season. I couldn't even begin to guess who's gonna be at the SB, there are no clear cut favorites in my mind. This should be a fun and suspenseful playoffs. |

Actually, I think it's more like an episode of Lost.

U know I really don't believe in Lovie as a coach....................but I must go with my team, even though they look like a 1 and done. |

The Patriots are the clear cut favorites, and the team I am cheering for now. But anything is possible. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired! |

Not if they play the Ravens. Out of all the AFC teams, I'd give them a shot. If the Colts were healthy, they'd have a shot too. Hell, the Colts were on their way to beating NE a few weeks ago if not for Peyton's INT. |

Agreed. The Ravens ALWAYS play us tough. And Pittsburgh is no joke either.
Other than Seattle, any team could easily make it out of the NFC. Crazy... |

That's what I mean, there ARE teams in their division who can put it on 'em so I don't think the Pats are a foregone conclusion. |

Pats aren't worried about Pittsburgh - Brady owns them. The Ravens(and the Colts at 100%) are a much tougher match-up. And I'm still not sold on NE's defense. |

I will 100% give you the coach. The veiled arrogance would KILL me if he was another team's coach. I hate it and I'm from Boston. (Don't get me wrong, I love that he's our coach. But I understand why everyone else would want to string him up by his nuts in the middle of the day and listen to him wimper until 4 in the morning).
But Brady? Really? What is it about him that irritates you? |

Well how about I worry for them?
They are actually the team I'm most afraid of in the AFC for some reason. I just think they've been there twice before and have a solid team on both sides of the ball.
Re- our defense. Totally agree. Like many others I actually thought this would be a bridge year for us because we have some many youngsters on D. We'll see.... |

I dunno, he's always bugged me, at least since the first SB win. After that he took on this smug quality IMO. He's a winner and I give him his due but watching him get bodyslammed on the field makes me smile like I'm looking at a boxful o' puppies. |

Brady kills the Steelers with those four-wide WR sets.
Actually, the time to get the Patriots is now. With the draft picks the evil genius Belichick has stockpiled, Patriots are gearing up for another dynasty. |

I could be wrong. But I think the smug-factor is just him trying to do his best to take on the attitude/put on the airs that Belichick likes to create. It's that self imposed modesty thing that rings false. I think almost all of the Pats try to adopt that attitude in interviews because they know how Belichick does it and they are trying to maintain the company line.
Who knows? Maybe he's just a faux-follicled ass!!!!!
But he's my faux-follicled ass!!!! How's that?

I know what you mean, but there's something extra. And the way he did his babymama Bridget Moynihan, for me, was another indication of his douchey-ness. |
