The new house...so far.

Still a lot of boxes in some rooms but I did get paint on the walls I wanted to paint (I'll live with the other walls for a bit and see if I decide to paint any). Here's some of what we've gotten done so far and where we're at in the living/kitchen/dining spaces. I think it's coming along for being here just about a month.

Some of this stuff has been with us for years and years. Those leather chairs I need to try and do something with because they were given to us by my aunt but were kept in her garage and their cat scratched the shit out of them. We're gonna most likely replace them, but I'm wondering if there's a way to distress the leather so that the scratches blend in more in the meantime.

I'm gonna do some little shillouette paintings of the dog's profiles for the dining room. White squares with the shillouettes in leftover wall paint (dark teal)

Love the chairs but up close you see the scratches and it makes me INSANE. lol

I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth, but I can't keep them like that. Either I have to blend those in (and then will weathered/distress leather fit the decor? shrug) or we have to switch them out down the road.

Yes. Again and again and again.
And profanities don't help the oil work any better. neutral

Well, I guess if you distressed them and didnt like it, you were gonna get rid of them anyway..

I think the distressed look would look ok as long as it isnt to much...

You could always recover them...

Yeah, I wouldn't distress them to the point of chabby-chicness. lol

Just a little wear here and there maybe.

If I'm gonna recover, I might as well buy new. They're not antiques and IKEA has cute ones (not wingback, which is fine) for $199.

Very nice. cool I think I liked the kitchen more at the last place (it was the red nod ), but I LOVE the photos of the living room area. Is it upstairs, though? Finished basement?

The layout of this kitchen is much better. Even though the other had more cabinets, it was all in a straight line. I like this layout for working in it and being able to interact with folk in the dining room.

I loved the red, but it just wasn't for this kitchen.
