For the most part it's because they're Made in the USA (which is awesome!) and they last a good long time (if you take good care of them!).

The wood is called Bass wood, it's a N. American hardwood that comes from managed forestry so as not to impact the environment as much. As for the price I would say it's in the medium-high range, usually around $340-$400 per window (but divide that by 15yrs. of life...). Also bear in mind that they waaaay cheaper than wood shutters, don't block as much of your view and they still offer the same look and feel of shutters.

Sadly, there's no such thing as a "cat proof" blind. However, if you have a cat that insists on standing in the window you can have the blind get a "cutout" so the cat has access without doing as much damage.

(can you tell my passion lies in window coverings? rolleyes )

Is that Piedmont?

that was in Los Gatos... one of San Jose's answers to Piedmont... pimp

I've only been to San Jose ONCE but I'll probably go this summer

speaking of the Bay, one of my favorite feelings is eating a box of See's Candies

That candy has to have crack or something in the ingredient lol

Don't mean to highjack this thread, but what is See's Candy? I know it's candy but what type of candy: hard, soft, chewy, filled, what? I never heard of it. Is it a west coast thing?

What a great thread...Hmmmmm...

I love the feeling of accomplishment....like renhoek when a job is done well...I fix X-ray machines....and there is nothing like my customers witnessing my expertise....very satisfying....

I love seeing my kids succeed at something.....so pride...

I love to laugh....but don't as much as I would like to....

I love the anticipation of sex...knowing it is coming....

I love adrenaline rushes...like the peak of a roller coaster...the thrill of jumping from a perfectly good airplane....outrunning the police :lurk:

I loved the feeling I would get when my kids were little...they would see me pull in to the driveway at the end of my day and go nuts....EVERY DAY! mushy

Sometimes, when my soul's in the right place, I can find inspiration almost everywhere around me. But when it suddenly comes it feels great. I used to adore drawing when I was younger. Then I somehow stopped drawing frequently, and found myself in dancing, but every few months I just sit down and draw, I just feel a wave of inspiration. It happens with dance more frequently, though. I just feel guided by something, it's wonderful.

Anyway, I think I'm not so close to that feeling now... pout Too much on my mind, too many bad thoughts, too much work to do...

You know when you have a favorite part of a favorite song? And you love the song, but that particular part is just epic beyond all possible levels of epicness? I love the feeling when that part of the song comes on.

I also occasionally get this random happy feeling when I'm half asleep for NO apparent reason that makes me grin from ear-to-ear. I like that.

And, taking a bite out of a big delicious spicy jalapeno. I love that.

Or the first bite of a delicious pizza!
