Am I lucky?

Took my car to the dealership for a clicking noise on the front whell when I turned. It got worse after the quickie run to NY last week. I figure it's either the brakes, the cv boot, or the axles, except I had my brakes done earlier this year so I had a vague thought if they had messed up something.

Well the dealership inspects, comes out and tells me I am real lucky. :hmm2:

When they did my brakes, they did not tie up the brake line properly and they bitch had rubbed through my cv boot and sliced it and was rubbing on my axle about to be sliced! eek let me tell you, he showed me a pic and I was like oh shit, whoa nelly!!

I then trotted right over to Midas who did my brakes and very politely told them the deal. They are going to fix the whole thing for free! ($850 at dealer) Otherwise I was going to get ugly, but I decided was better to start off nice and give them a chance to rectify that. That would be a hell of a lawsuit if they would have fucked with me.

I have barely any brake after everyone touched on ot today but my car os a damn trooper because I drove to dc, ny and 6 hours a week to work weekly minimum and you really could not tell anything was wrong. Lickilu I heard that little clicking a few weeks ago, must've been when it rubbed through to the axle.

I also have a busted thermostat amd my car decided to underheat...

No heat in house, no heat in car... :disbelief:

I did finish all the Christmas shopping and all but my Christmas spirit is done.

Googling this and found my own thread.

Evidently it's commoner than I thought.

Lol, actually, according to the dealer, my car is in pretty good shape! I take good care of it. That's why I was like what do you mean my cv boot is torn to shreds. The thermostat was a fluke, regular stop and go car heater acts just as normal as can be, heat and everything. And considering what was happening my car was running fine, you couldn't even tell there was an issue. It's paid off and approaching 100000, so I knew something was gonna happen LOL!

I even have the fake manual transmission, and downshift with that to conserve brakes has been a literal lifesaver! So I am highly pleased with my car, it was a good solid choice!!!! I have not really had any major issues with it before this year.

Shit happens! *gallic shrug*

Free is always the best price. But the fact that you didn't slam into an immovable object at a high rate of speed is even better. So in that sense, even though they messed up to begin with, yeah, I'd say you had a bit of luck on your side this time.

Brake line is fixed today and I can brake again! nod

Axle and CV will be done on Tuesday, which is good because turning sucks right now.

Thermostat and some basic stuff will be done first week of January with the money I saved from not having to fix the CV and axle at the dealer and the dealer will reinspect their work after it is done!! nod

I guess I am some kinda lucky LOL wink
