Never heard of them before, but I just looked them up. Looks like they're very similar, but the loukoumades are a little bigger and softer. Now I want to try them too!

It's what you make it.

Lower fat FLAN (Spanish custard)

1 can sweet condensed milk

1 can carnation -LOW FAT

3 eggs (large)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/2 cup sugar

procedure:

(A) Prepare a water bath to place custard bowl to bake

(B)Place sugar in a saucepan and melt down and carmelize. Its tricky, you may use a bit of juice from a lemon half or orange to aid in preventing sugar clumping. Once you've carmelized the sugar, coat the custard bowl with the sugar. It will harden as it cools.

(C) In a blender combine eggs, milks and vanilla, do NOT blend too long. No frothing, you do NOT want air bubbles in the custard

pour the mixture in the dish, place the dish in water bath, bake @ 350 for 45 minutes

let cool (I never wait since I like warm custard and I'm greedy)

to serve, flip that sucker on a dish CAREFULLY. That's the hard part. lol

What I do is eat a very small amount of rich desserts.

I don't skip, just eat more times in small doses. If you deny yourself, you'll break down and over eat.

I stay away from too much of one thing (like cakes, pastries, pies, icecreams) except plain dark chocolate.

I fill up on water before eating one small serving of dessert.

Tonight I made dummy fudge for my niece n nephew. Here it is:

One bag of butterscotch chips, a bag of milk chocolate chips, and a bag of semi sweet chocolate chips. Melt them all in a double boiler, and nuts if u like. Pour the fudge into a greased pan and cool.

Courtesy of Paula Deen!! Made it last year and it was good! There's always fudge at the holidays!

Need lots of practice. Already broke my diet. Ate popcorn (which I love but am sort of allergic to). But I'm determined to, and I need to lose this weight, for health reasons.
