I'm scared of dying before my time, just cause my kids are too little cry I don't want them to be sad.

I wouldn't want to know.

No.

Of course i'd be scared if I were staring death in the eye... I don't want to die yet! But I'm not afraid of it.

I'd just feel sad for the people left behind.

Not at all, not even of possible pain or anything connected to dying.

I see it as a part of life, a part of a long journey and I always wanted to know what it felt like to be dead. Don't get me wrong, I love life and I want to live as long as possible, but there's something about death I'm looking forward to, out of simple curiosity.

Makes perfect sense. I feel very much the same. Once I'm dead, I won't really give two shits. I just hope the process isn't long and drawn out.

Death is not inevitable in this day and age.

Within 30 years, the rate of medical advances will exceed the rate of "aging".

Death is only caused by decaying of cells causing parts of our body to age. There are many things that act as a catalyst to this decay - toxins, bad diets, etc.

We will soon be able to choose to live forever....if we want to. Of course it will likely be a luxury afforded to the rich...

Alternatively we can become cyborgs also.... a professor here in the UK has already done it and envisioned a future whereby non-cyborgs are a relic, kept in zoos....

I'm down with it.

But to answer the original question - no I'm not....but I would rather not.

I'd be scared of living while feeling dead more. so, i'd rather pass knowing i'd lived so i won't be scared to die cause i'd keep on living in people's minds.

No, I'm not afraid of dying, but like another poster said, I don't want to be staring it in the face, like someone threatening my life, or being caught in a fire or violent disaster. Best way to go in my estimation would be while sleeping.

Im terrified of it! When I was younger and used to think about it I would have a panic attack, and start to hyperventilate, which only added to the thought of OMG I CANT BREATHE NOW IM REALLY DYING! lol Ive learned to overcome the panic attacks because of it... I dont think about it so much anymore and do realize there is not a damn thing I can do about dying, but the thought of it scares the shit outta me!!

For those who believe in God and heaven, you say heaven will be wonderful and glorious, BUT what the hell we gonna do all day? And further more, what are we gonna do for ETERNITY!! Eternity people! I just cant get my head around that!

Then, for those who dont believe in an after life think that when we die were just dead...JUST DEAD!! So I am never more, done, this whole wonderful life I have just lead ceases to exist and FOR WHAT? Why was I even here?

I hate the whole thing... disbelief

Not scared of dying, but scared of HOW I'm going to die. I hope it's quick and painless.

Not scared at all.

Perhaps if it were imminent I'd feel differently, but I can't think of a thing that scares me about it.

Even if it were possible, i wouldn't want ot know when it would be. It would ruin the surprise.

This may sound silly.......BUT

I'm not afraid of becoming worms meat, The idea that my energy will still remain in the food chain is comforting. I just don't like the idea of my personality will cease to exist. No one else is like me... the way I think, act, talk, smile and how this effects other people is unique to me........and then its GONE!! that's kinda scary....

Hi tina . . Well it seems that the odds of any of us actually being alive is millions to one ? . . We are actually experiencing this amazing thing called life for a short period of time and we should embrace it for the short time we are on the earth . . I dont believe in any gods or afterlife or anything like that . . I believe that after we die . We will be as we were before we were born . . Its simple and makes complete sense to me . . We should all enjoy our life as much as we can and marvel at this incredible place calle the universe that we live in . . Life aint easy but i still love being alive and i do try not to let problems drag me down . . . We live in the moment . . Thats all that matters . .

I often think about death. Not that I want to die soon, but I know it's eminent. I compare it to being under anesthesia, like when you have a major operation and the anesthesiologist knocks you out. Consiousness is absent. You don't dream. You're not aware of anything. Waking up afterward is like coming back to life. So I would compare death to that state of eternal unconciousness. geek

Nope. Only thing I'm scared of is dying without love. And maybe the painful side of dying (depending on how I leave this world). Might die in a gun battle with guns a'blazin' or die peacefully in my sleep. Besides, I hear that in our present state of "consciousness", our brain is actually in the same state of activity as it is when we're asleep. So we're asleep even though we're walking around and talking and such.

So if that's true....when do we "wake up"? wink hehehe

No..I am not meant to last here forever we are all supposed to return Home...my life was made by me before I even knew it.

I would not want to know; so that my life will not be focused on dying.
