Is it normal to cry over a terrible haircut?

Well, that's what I did today. sad

My long hair is gone and I am left with a mess.

Whistle, you're mean. mad

I'm really unhappy about this. sad

I just spent 45 minutes trying to fix this mess and it looks better, but still bad.

Yes, it is normal. Especially going from long hair to short hair.

Sorry you hate the cut. Hopefully, the cut is okay and you're just not use to it.

comfort

I'm firmly planted in denial

I don't think I ever cried but I do remember feeling quite awful a few times after a bad haircut! I've simply been very very careful since.

How short is it now, if I may ask?

It's not short, short...but it's layered and there is a huge chunk on one side only that is overly thick and then the layer under it is way too thin.

So do I, and I usually cut my own hair. I have been feeling down in the dumps lately and I thought getting my hair done at a salon would cheer me up a little.

I will never go to a salon again.

This is not the haircut I was given, this was after rewashing, re-cutting and styling it a bit. This is the after-after.

I look miserable.

Well, I don't know. I had years of issues with bad hair cuts, but I never cried. Got so tired of trying to find a hair style that worked after having long hair most of my life that I did eventually buy some good clippers and started shaving it off myself. Been doing that for over a decade. Works for me - might not be the look you were going for. lol Just remember it's hair. You can go someplace else in a couple weeks and have somebody else re-style it.

It's very "Pam"-ish. I'm referring to Pam from True Blood who I LOVE. She is very sexy and AWESOME!!!

I'm sorry you don't like it. It looks really nice.

On that photo the cut doesn't look bad. Not great, but okay. I still think blond hair doesn't fit you at all though. The colour (on you compared to dark hair) looks way worse than the cut IMO.

Well, that's shitty for me because that's my natural colour, so it not fitting me is pretty weird.

I can't go back to dark, my roots come in too light and it is way to hard to maintain. This is why I went back to natural.

Oh well.

You look beautiful.

I've had more than a few haircuts that were disasters but at least the hair grows and I am lucky because my hair grows very fast.

I had it cut short just after Christmas - didn't like it and now it has grown to past my shoulders - will now go to a good hairdresser and get a shape put into it.

A bad haircut can make you miserable.

Oh well.

My natural colour doesn''t fit me either although it is supposed to be like that as far as I know.

Isn't it a lot easier to maintain a hair colour that is darker than your natural one than one that is lighter? And a lot less "stress" for the hair too? I wish my natural hair colour was lighter than the one I die my hair and not the other way round.

It really can make you miserable and the fact that I had an upsetting week didn't help.
