I WAS supposed to be on that show!! if it was not for a company boat ride I would have been!!

That was a lot of fun. I had drank 3 or 4 tall cans of beer before the show so I wouldn't be nervous and also to loosen me up.

I just got a CD-R of the show this morning and haven't listened to it yet but I'm dying to hear it. I've always hated hearing my voice on tape though because I always end up hearing a southern accent in it. You know, you never hear how other people hear your voice while you're speaking until you hear it on a recording and then you're like... .

I don't worry about it anymore though because I am what I am and have never tried to say I was anything other than an old southern whore. I can live with having a southern accent but I would just die if it sounded redneckish.

I laugh at this for a few reasons. I really had no idea if Andy was black or white, all this time on the Org. Even when we were on the phone last night before the show started, I still wasn't sure. (Hell, I can't even tell if John is pre-op or post-op! HA!) I actually IMed John in private last night in the chat room and asked him if Andy was black or white. I thought he was white by his conversations about dating only black men, etc (in the original Race Relationships thread). His accent just SO threw me off, I really had to keep reminding myself it wasn't some old kodger sitting on the front porch, but rather a white boy like me, from the south (mid-south for me), talkin' about black folks.

It was fun to hear everyone talk though. Samatha's voice is like pure honey. She could be Girl 6! haha

I started to wonder if you knew what color I am when I was talking about the time in the ninth grade when a guy told me I was going to hell for sleeping with someone of another race and you asked...."He told you that you were going to hell for sleeping with a white person?".

My it was SO GOOD to hear all of you guys voices!!! I really was impressed by the topic Acrylic brought up about liking black males more so as opposed to her own race, and how caucasian people over time...drifted away from her in school. I NOTICED THAT SO MUCH..it's like this unspoken rule that no one talks about. I do definitley agree. There was a wealth of information all three of your guys brought to the table about three different types of racism in your cultures..especially the hispanic / white complex. Vain, i swear I could not imagine how you look!!!
