Ghosts

Do you believe in them?

If yes, have you ever seen one? or had a friend, relative etc who experienced a paranormal activity?

There's a video on YT called: Spirits, ghosts and demons...check it out if you don't belive in them. It's very scary.

Three things...

First, there are definitely unexplained events that take place on this rock we call Earth. But for me unexplained doesn't necesarilly mean ghosts, spirits, aliens, etc. It just means unexplained. We don't understand it, can't put meaning behind it, can't explain it.

Second, the human mind is an amazing machine and everyone uses their's differently. Some people are able to convince themselves that something unbelievable is real. I mean really, REALLY believe it. Some people are able to be easily swayed into believing a story from a loved one or friend is true. And some people just have great imaginations.

Third, taking the first and second part into account, my opinion on the subject is that 99.9% of all reports are complete and total bs. But there's A LOT of reports out there. I don't have any problem believing that the remaining one tenth of a percent is in fact something utterly and completely unexplainable with the knowlege we currently possess as a species.

My gut still tells me it's more likely that aliens exist than actual spirits of the departed ghosts.

Part of me says yeah, why not and another says when it's over it's over.

My only 'experience' came after my grandmother had recently died. We were very close and she was worried about me going off to university, within 2 weeks of me going she suddenly passed away without knowing that I had settled in just fine. The first weird thing that happened was that I met a girl
the very next day who is now my wife and it always felt like she slotted right in to that hole perfectly....but the second always had me wondering...

I returned to my hometown with my new girlfriend to meet my folks for the first time, they went out and we went to bed. Something made me wake up suddenlly
later and I felt like someone was in the room. It suddenly also smelt stronky like my grans house which had a very distinctive smell....then the smell and feeling went. I'd like to think it was her giving her 'approval', letting me know she was happy and knew I was happy and what 'less scary' way to do it than a reminding smell and a sense of presence instead of appearing.

This of course could also be down to subconscious and easily explained (though it DID smell distinctive for a few minutes).

Also having had sleep paralysis before (where your mind is awake but your body isn't, you can't move and often hallucinated) I can see how that could result n some stories you hear of being held down by ghosts standing over the bed....I once thought I was paralysed on a morgue table and my bedroom even had White tiles on the wall....then you suddenly snap out if it, everything looks ok and you can move VERY SCARY

Purpledoveuk - I've had sleep
paralysis too. I could see ghosts and hear annoying "beeeeep" sound. It was very scary indee.

When my grandfather passed away, he came to each member of my family. Nobody told me, so when I went to bed and suddenly felt some kind of "cold" energy touching me, I was really scared. When I told my mother the other day, she said "yeah, he came to everyone". So, I do believe in ghosts. And there's some kind of the afterworld.

I don't really remember that scene. hmmm

Sexual?

No, I just enjoy a good nightmare every once in a while.

I've had sex with green-skinned 8 ft tall amazonian alien women in my dreams though.

I possibly saw one. I had just woken up, so it's also very possible that I was dreaming/imagining things. It seemed friendly and not threatening at all. It was staring at something in my room, then turned and looked directly at me, and then faded away.

I believe and have had several experiences. My last apartment was a hotbed of activity, both in the building and my specific apartment.

This was my experience as well.

It happened in our first home. One day my mother and I were in the living room (which was upstairs, a lot of houses in the Poconos are "upside down" homes). We both heard and "felt" the screendoor at the bottom of the stairs close. I immediately jumped and looked down (the sofa was only about 2 feet from the stairway) and saw an older, heavy-set balding man walk right in and turn the corner down the downstairs hallway. Under normal circumstances we both would've kicked into OMG THERE'S A FUCKING PERSON IN OUR HOUSE mode, but it was quite the opposite. I walked down (calmly) right away and could find no one anywhere.

Our house was bought on estate sale. Both owners died there. It was a vacation home they turned full-time residence once retired. I asked Ron if he remembered seeing any photos when we first came to look at the house and he described the man pretty closely to the one I'd seen.

The guy was also an artist. I set my studio above the garage and found a carved and painted piece by him. I hung it over the doorway out of respect. Maybe he was happy the space was being used to create art once again. shrug I did not take the piece with us when we moved. no no no! I did not have a bad experience with him and was not gonna play around with possibly changing that. lol

A few guests (without us ever telling them this story) made random comments that they felt "something" in the house. Or that they felt as if someone stood in the guest bedroom watching them.

Yes.

When I was young, my parents' house had someone.

The couple who built the house moved to SC; when Mrs. G. died, I think she came back to look for Mr. G.

- My parents' bedroom was directly across from my sister's. One evening I was lying on their bed watching TV. A very transparent woman in blue was in the hallway. I kind of shook it off, but then my sister- who was on her bed- sat up and had this blank look on her face. Then she said, "You saw her too?" and lay back down.

- Another time I woke up and she was standing by my bed, which used to be their room.

- We had the occasional cold drafts throughout the house- esp. in the kitchen.

Once Mr. G. died, we didn't see her anymore.

Yes I believe in them.

One early evening during the Summer (it was bright outside) I was sitting on the floor of a bedroom when I saw a black shaped figure enter another bedroom. I thought it was an intruder and went to confront them. When I walked in, the room was cold as ice and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.

Another time I was on a holiday and was visiting this Chinese garden/park. This was some time after my aunt passed away. I was walking around and admiring the plants and stuff when I happened to look up and see my dead aunt smiling and looking at me from a short distance eek - I did a double take and then I went looking for her and then I realized she was dead sigh

One day I was driving through my neighbourhood to a store when I saw a girl waiting to cross at a crosswalk and stopped to let her cross. I had a friend in the car who said "why are we stopping" and I told her why. I looked again and there was no little girl waiting to cross at the cross walk eek

There were times when I would be reading and then have this strong feeling that someone was standing behind the chair. When I looked there was no one.

OH this one I can not personally attest to, but it was told to me by my mom.

I was the first born grandchild but was born well after my grandfather had died.

My mom was single when she had me and lived alone. She always told the story of how one morning (I was days or weeks old) she woke up and could smell Old Spice faintly in the air. She looked all over the house and outside (no one walking by). She went to get me and when she picked me up the smell was concentrated on my cheek. eek

My grandfather wore only Old Spice and wore it all the time.

She always just took it as maybe he came by to see me or wanted to let her know he knew he had a grandson. Make of it what you will. shrug

Yes I highly believe in them...and yes I have had my run in with them.

Many times as a child...I would see a figure of a man standing in my room. When I was a teenager my favorite Uncle passed away and he came to visit me. Recently when my Uncle Frank passed away...another Uncle & Aunt of mine said that after his funeral that evening, my Uncle Frank came to the front door, spoke to them and my Uncle Lawrence said..."Frank you need to go, we don't need you to fix the door anymore." Then he left....my Aunt Linda (Uncle Frank's wife) says she can't rent or sell the house he built because people keep hearing his guitar playing. eek

In my old house here in Norman...there was a ghost of a young female with big black eyes and long black hair....she not only haunted my house but the house next door. One day my old neighbor's cousin came to pick up his kids (she did daycare) and he called Julie after he left and said..."who is that girl that was standing at the door when I left?"...Julie said "what girl?" and he responded "The girl with the long black hair and big black looking eyes." eek She said "I don't watch a girl who looks like that."

So far in my new home...I haven't had to deal with any...

In answer to the question, of course not. Any miniscule grain of doubt I may have had was absolutely obliterated by Carl Sagan's Demon Haunted World. In a really nice way, because Carl was a nice guy. He's dead now, but he'll never be a ghost. Or reincarnated. Or live forever in a transient netherworld beyond dimentional planes, time and space with all his dead friends and relatives. He's just dead. But I am happy he was alive. Please read his books before you touch another one about UFOs or God. Do your highly evolved brain a favour.

Aye, he was. He fought the good fight and I think that's the best anyone who has come to their senses can do. You can't just be smug. You have to fight your corner just as viciously as the silly people defending their silly things. Even if Carl only enlightened one person, it was all worth it. He who saves one life saves the world entire, and all that.

I remember putting my face real close to the screen to concentrate on where the ghost might appear, then suddenly that exorcist girl appeared and frightened the life outta me.

It scared me so bad that I got a bad headache after.

Ps...I think Photoshop has killed any ghostly image that comes out these days. It's not like the old days where people would get fooled by black n white pictures. Now a days, u gotta witness it to believe it.
