OMG...
last night i fell asleep..
and all was well...
so i thought..
im sleeping, minding my own busines, and i wake enough to realize it feels like something's biting me....like a bull ant or a bee even..
that sh*t hurt!!!
when i put my hand on the spot to remove whatever the hell it is..
this is what i found!!!



and now im awake enough to realize there's a big palmetto bug (roach) on me
AND it's biting me...
i jumped out of bed and missed the floor landing on my arse

horror movie scream????? forget about it...
all i could do was squeak!!!
i pull off the blankets and everything else trying to find the damn thing..
shaking them out and all and i couldnt find it ...
until i sat down on the bed and there it was...
all buddy buddy right next to me and crawling on my leg!!!!
i actually picked it up off of me and flung it..
and went for the raid after it started crawling back
i had no idea these things bit people
and when i look it up online, i see that they do..
usually dead people...
or younger kids with food residue on their skin...
i hate these things, no matter what you do they're always somewhere around..
geeze!!!
im leaving the deodorant off until morning next time..
that thing bit me in my armpit..
and i think it was after the deo i had put on after a shower...

did you know they bite??
humans?

what else do you know now that you wish you didnt know???
i could have lived the rest of my life without knowing this.

Yeah, they bite.

They also exacerbate asthma.

And are completely gross.

When I was little we lived in a house infested with them. I hated it. I've been obsessed with making sure any apartment that I come to see doesn't have any infestation. I turned down a condo close to downtown Chicago 'cause when I looked under the kitchen cabinet sink they had this brown poison gel lined up against the cracks. I knew what time it was. No thanks

a house i had about 20 years ago had wood paneling in it...
way too much wood paneling, and when one of those flying things got in there..
you could hear it hitting the walls in the dark...

I went to Disney World in Florida a long time ago. No worries, I come home unpack, wash clothes, the usual unpacking after a trip shit.

Then one night I went to go in the kitchen and flicked on the light. There staring at me on the kitchen counter between the stove and the sugar bowl was a roach!!! That damned thing went into the dashboard of my stove, the little bugger

Finally flushed it out and wacked the shit outta it!!

Damn roach had a free ride on the airplane

At a restaurant in Florida one was on a wall behind me

I got bitten by one myself a year ago . It was in Trinidad. I was in the bed with my bf and it suddenly crawled on my hand. I asked my bf to remove it and he said I shouldn't mind it won't do anything . So I tried to remove it myself and that thing didn't like that and bit me . My bf told me that cannot be because they don' bite I showed him the bite mark and he said it must have been another insect that bit me befere . But I could feel it when it bit me . It swoll a little and hurt a little for 2 days and you could see the mark for some weeks,

It is the one thing that freaks me out about moving home.

I have only ever seen them at an insect exhibit. For the longest time I didn't even think they were in this country....but apparently they are, and some people here in the city even have them in their house!!

Here in the South (US), we get the big 'uns. I felt one crawling on me in bed one night several months ago, thinking it was a dream. Somehow, I managed to grab it in a state of semi-consciousness, and woke up with it in my hand. On occasion when they get in the house, I just grab 'em in my hand and flush 'em down the toilet. I don't like to squash them since they'll spew guts or crap everywhere.

that type doesn't live or breed inside ...they're typically an outdoor variety but if you live in the south, especially Georgia and Florida, you're gonna see them in your house at some point...

In the Caribbean, it's not like in the U.S. where filth brings them out. If there is a strong downpour here the come out to play. They fly around like fireflies or mosquitoes and if you open your door one might fly in, or even find someway in your house when you least expect it.
