LOS ANGELES - Dennis Hopper's divorce attorney says in a court filing that the actor is dying and can't undergo chemotherapy as he battles prostate cancer.

Attorney Joseph Mannis described the "Easy Rider" star's grave condition in a declaration filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Mannis and attorneys for Hopper's wife Victoria are fighting over when and whether to take the actor's deposition.

Mannis says Hopper is terminally ill and cannot give a deposition.

The declaration states the actor weighs barely 100 pounds and cannot tolerate long conversations or stress, though Hopper is healthy enough to attend the unveiling of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame scheduled for Friday.

I seem to remember a similar story about six months ago about Dennis. It's probably still true, and his condition is worsening.

yeah really! WHY would she divorce him NOW? not unless she's waiting to marry another dude ASAP?

anywho....sorry to hear this..im a hopper fan from way back in his easy rider days.

This whole thing is a mess, daugther fighting against Hopper's wife, manipulating Hopper to change his will, and divorce her. Also Dennis is so hopped up on meds that he doesn't really understand whats going on.

I think he's divorcing her. He filed for a restraining order a few months ago.

Going through all of this is tough enough, but to do it while receiving a cancer diagnosis and treatment is horrific. The stress has got to be impacting his body and the progression of the disease.

Not taking sides...not proclaiming him "innocent"... just a sad thing to see for any fellow human.

Like I said in the other thread, this reminds me a lot of what Lou Rawls was going through and he was sick and divorcing his wife at the same time too.

Wow he looks bad, but at least the public got to pay tribute to him before he passed. I'm watching Giant right now and he was such fresh-faced kid in that movie.
