Halloween & The Shining are the only ones that still work me up.

there's also the last 20 minutes or so from Wait Until Dark.

and i also love Shyamalan's Signs & The Village.

I love those too, but they don't scare me

OMG I love the Village, its more of a mystery/suspense story to me than a thriller.

And how could I forget...

I don't like 'slasher' horror movies much, but I do like dramas with an element of horror like Dracula or the Others

I haven't seen it in a while, but at the time I remember liking Event Horizon quite a bit. Doesn't seem like it was all that well received though.

I'm not a fan of The Ring, The Grudge, The Sixth Sense, etc. The whole creepy little kid angle is overdone.

Also I liked Jacob's Ladder. I feel like it basically did what the Sixth Sense did, to some degree, about 9 years earlier.

Movies that I consider respectable classics:

-Night of the Living Dead bow
-Zombie (aka, Dawn of the Dead) bow
-Dracula (with Christopher Lee)
-The Wicker Man
-Scary Movie
-Nightmare on Elm Street
-Alien
-Texas Chainsaw Massacre
-The Exorcist
-The Shining
-Halloween
-The Omen
-Evil Dead
-Silence of the Lambs (I know many considered it a thriller)
-REC (the spanish original that spawned a decent, yet inferior remake, Quarantine)

Camp value (silly yet entertaining as hell cool :
-The bulk of Christopher Lee's sequels of Dracula.
-Scary Movie 2
-Day of the Dead
-Nightmare on Elm Street Part.III
-Friday the 13th series
-Evil Dead Part.II
-Blair Witch Project
-The Village

Let's see

Dawn of the Dead
Idi Amin
Twilight Zone the tv show
Texas Chainsaw Massacre

My family loved scary movies and would make everyone go watch them when I was three years old. I haven't been able to watch some movies since. I am a mess I know.

I haven't watched Precious and I've always said people think Glitter is horrible because the critics say it is. It's a fun movie - she wasn't trying to film a masterpiece lol

I cannot even begin to answer this question, because I am the QUEEN of HORROR!
I'd have to say that I do hold a special, certain fondness in my heart for the Halloween series, though. nod

I love all scary movies for the most part. My favorite is Bram Stokers Dracula not because it's scray but because 2 me it's a love story and the music and the way it was shot is really nice. smile
