Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

not to turn this into an appreciation thread for All About Eve, which could easily be done, but yes that movie is full of great lines spoken by great actors. George Sanders was the shit. I think I either read or heard that he killed himself after becoming bored with life and the lack of decent film roles.

The dialogue is SNAPPY as they come I know Ms.Davis loves to brag about the work she did with William Wyler, nothing against those movies she did with him,,,,but Joseph Mankiewicz reeeaally let her roll up her sleeves and show off her muscles. But like Trina said, the REAL star was the "script" and Ms.Margo Channing was def the perfect vehicle. What I appreciatte mostly about the movie is, I always discover something new everytime I watch. Subtlety is such a lost art nowadays.

Subtlety is such a lost art nowadays. Well that's because Wyler was the love of her life. Hollywierd screenwriters aren't capable of writing good scripts consistenlty now, when in doubt cuss and/or through in a sex scene. I miss character actors in movies, that's why we see something new everytime. I love Thelma Ritter. In "Titanic", her character said..... Maude Young: I've seen that look before. He's a runaway. Earl Meeker: From what, some woman? Maude: No, he's running too fast for that.

my other fav movie chalk full of timeless and memorable lines.
"This sweet thing is getting her first divorce too! She's a very dear friend of mine... What did you say your name was again darling?" - The Women 1939...not that 2008 heap of cinematic garbage.
