do straight guys like girls with painted nails? like is that a desirable thing?

Can girls be sexy without painted nails? Yes. Ergo, painted nails are not intrinsically sexy.

guys don't worry much about attachments...I mean, a woman could have a twin like tumor growing from her neck and some guy somwwhere is gonna wanna hit it...

I like painted nails myself, but only slightly more than I like tumors...

AND if a guy assumes a girl paints her nails to be noticed, then he will probably also notice her and know that she is planned for that to happen

I get my nails done every two weeks- hands and feet.
I like to be neat and look nice; I don't do it to be sexy.
I also don't really care if others notice- I do it for me.

High maintenance? Nah. When I think high maintenance, I think of someone who gets someone else to pay for it. I PAY FOR IT MYSELF.

On the other hand, I don't wear makeup. In a lot of cases, I think that painted faces aren't sexy: overly tweezed eyebrows, clown-like applications, and those God-forsaken lined lips that are a different color than the lipstick.
When I hear, "I can't leave the house without my makeup!", I'm more likely to think "vain".

manicured nails/hands are sexy.

Depends on the woman, her nails, her fingers, the color, the style, etc. etc.
As far as I´m concerned, nails can add to sexiness but not necessarily.I´ve had some great moments with women who didn´t have painted nails.

I don't know about other guys, but my sweetie tells me on a regular basis that he loves my nails.

And he was the one to pestered me to get them done initially.

like with anything, finding something "sexy" (or simply adding to "sexiness"), whether a man likes them on a woman or not usually has to do with early sexual experience I guess, maybe the first woman he fantasised about/had a memorable sexual experience with, had painted nails and subsequently seeing painted nails brings up those feelings of sexual desire/excitement (fetish).

Painted toe nails are sexy to me.

I doubt most men care or even take notice, to be honest. The "classic" red nails sort of looks silly to me, but I don't mind transparent, shiny polish. Gloss or whatever it is called. Wouldn't consider it a sexual turn-on, nevertheess.

Long fake nails tend to signal "I don't do anything" to me, though.

What are they painted as?

Painted nails and toenails are extremely sexy. Many sexual acts would not have the same visual without them.
