has there been a BOOK THREAD in awhile???

whatcha reading?

I'm currently working on this. I don't finish alot of the books I read so this one might end up on the shelf with a bookmark shoved in it along with Gandhi's autobiography: http://www.ebooknetworkin...059099.jpg

Picked this one up tonight and cracked it open while I was waiting for Dad's MRI

I picked this one out tonight aswell, Mom let me pick out my Xmas gift. The original I have is falling apart.

This one comes out in February so I'm hoping I'll have a clean slate by then.

So what about everybody else????

i'm liking it so far, but i'm actually pretty partial to all but a few of King's novels, so i'm a bit (quite) biased. lol i'll say i don't love it yet, but i'm not that far in yet, and all in all it's engaging - and i care enough about the plot to be confused, so... lol

Yeah... it started off dry. I'm up to p. 190...
Then I saw the other one, and kind of put it aside. I love SK, but the vampires have my attention right now... boxed

I probably wouldn't finish it so I'm gonna hold off well into the new year. I should get a library card.

you should ask in the ones in your city if they have a program in which they can order books from other libraries nearest from their but that are not associated to them. the other libraries can then send them to your local library! then you can check them out! I work at a library! that what we do with patrons don't like our books! maybe your library might have the same deal going on..you know, librarians are willing to do anything to find that special book you need!

I'm reading The Demon Awakens, and the Demon Spirit by RA Salvatore. Good read. It was a Kindle freebie.

Ever since I started reading on my Ipod Touch I've been hooked (I'm always reading anyway, only thing that keeps me sane LOL). Amazon has some really good specials and most of my books have been free or pretty cheap, plus I don't have to worry about books and trying to find space for them.

I'm also studying a lot for the pharmacy tests.

I also picked up SOS Help for Parents and SOS Help for Emotions. I have a lot of slef help books LOL. I try! wink

Yesterday's Weather - by Anne Enright.

Oddly, this guy comes up when I google that book title: http://blogs.lasvegascity...pandex.jpg

The reason why this is important is that I used his body in the most recent "Mullet Haired Poodle Man photoshop pt. 3121" thread, in the now infamous 'falling from the balloon' photograph.

Is this just coincidence? Trust me, I don't think so.

ok, moving on:

Naked in Dangerous Places - by Cash Peterson

Now when I google that, I get all sorts of images, none of which I think I shall share here on the org.
The author is one of the hosts of NPR's marketplace, and he's a damned good
travel writer. Very funny guy.

Thai, Reading for Speaking - Darryl Sweetland

I'm now up to 21 memorized alphabets, can spell and read my own name mushy
and am able to spot out the letters and guess their pronunciation within
Thai words to some extent. Thai is actually not that difficult to read.

I can't wait to have all 44 letters memorized and begin the process of reading
the language. I also need to really beef up my vocabulary. I figure I can
have 500 to 1,000 words memorized within a few months time (Ambitious, but
not as impossible as it sounds).
