The Hunger Beast

demon

Does this happen to you?

I get so hungry that I feel I will DIE if I don't get some food. This happens roughly two hours after what my husband calls my last "feeding." Sometimes it literally feels like there's a monster inside me, and I can't stop devouring food until it calms down. I eat and eat, and still my stomach is growling until I've stuffed enough food in there.

If it's been a few hours since I last ate (or on a really beastly day, as soon as I get home from eating somewhere) I literally can't focus on anything except getting some fucking FOOD and eating it.

Right now it's almost one in the morning. I woke up ravenous a half hour ago. I heated up some leftovers and ate them plus a couple of cookies. I sat down at the computer but couldn't concentrate on anything because my tummy monster was still screaming at me. I went and ate three more cookies, drank some milk, and finally felt human again.

Am I really fucking weird, or do you have a hunger beast too?

It's what you make it.

Sometimes. Sometimes it's not an actual physical rumbling for me...it's a beastly want.

See, for me it's not a psychological want. It's a physical urge, worse than Oh-My-God-I-Gotta-Pee-I-Can't-Hold-It.

Are you gaining weight for it? Doesn't look like it from the pics. Have you asked Dr. about it? I mean...if it's actually a physical thing. shrug

Not meaning that there's anything wrong, but that it might just be the way your body is wired. Some people eat one meal a day, other people have to eat a little bit...almost constantly.

No, I don't really gain weight. After I moved down here I started eating a lot more junk and gained about 5 pounds, but dropped it. So nothing significant.

I have asked doctors about it for years. Everything's been checked and my blood sugar and thyroid function are fine. I've been sent to nutritionists to make sure I'm taking in enough calories with each meal, and I take in more than enough. I'm just a gas guzzler. confused

And yes I get it too sigh but I wonder why I get at my hungriest when I'm tired? It's times I would wake up out of my sleep {tired as hell} and go rummage through the kitchen for food or chocolate and after I finish I go lay right back down and go to sleep, as if I'm sleep walking. eek

This could be true. I notice when I'm drinking lots of water, I'm better able to handle hunger like a human in control of herself.

I had that last night after eating some simple carbs. An hour later, my blood sugar dropped and I felt extremely hungry. I never have this after eating stuff like potatoes or meals with lots of protein, only after simple carbs like white bread, sugary stuff, or in combination with coffee.

It's due to sugar, or a nutrient deficiency I think.

I'm hungry all the time---it annoys the shit out of me. neutral

in all seriousness, we have dinner, put the kids to bed, make sure they're sleep, hook the laptop to the big screen and then blaze, munch out and watch Season 3 of Dexter...

we save a small fortune on red wine...
