I noticed that in the previews last week. I like Smallville. It's obviously a very alternate story line to the Superman story in general, and a lot of Superman fans don't even consider Smallville part of the Superman story at all. But you have to recreate something every so often. Hell, Batman and Robin were fighting space aliens for a while in comic books because everything was too violent before that. It was the murky years, for a few years in the 60's. Until someone reinvented it again. Same goes for this. I do wonder how they'll end it with Lois not knowing who Clark Kent is after seeing the Red/Blue blur's face at some point (near the very end). Will she suddenly have amnesia and forget everything? It seems the only logical way, unless Clark does something to her at a new Fortress of solitude.

I also think they've jumped the shark a bit, and the show should have wrapped itself up about 3 years ago. But we'll see.

PS Oliver Queen is one hot motherfucker! Gat dayum I'd work that boy over.

I've only watched a handful of episodes this season...they jumped the shark allright. Too many story lines started leaving too many loose threads...same with Heroes.

In the beginning it was more cohesive and had more continuity. I'm watching it tonight though. I think the thing that irks me most is every season they hint around at Clark becoming Superman, which should have been done three seasons ago.

It would have been cool if they'd done stories around the Justice Society for the whole season.

Whoa! Pam Grier is the head of Checkmate...what's that about? eek

why are they even trying to continue on without Lex? the guy left the show but is the character coming back atleast?

I would imagine that once they finish up the show in 2055, that Michael Rosenbaum might come back just to finish up the character. Even Lana came back for a while. Almost everyone has come back. Clark's mom is due to come back. Pete Ross came back for a short while too. They had someone on the show once who was supposed to look like Lex, all hooked up to machines.

He'd almost have to come back to set in motion the clash between Lex and Superman, but if Lex knows who Clark is, and he sees Superman - therein lies the same question about Lois, and anyone else. How will they NOT know Clark from Superman, since he's not hiding behind those fake glasses?

We'll never see Tom Welling in Red/Blue tights, so I'm wondering how they'll wrap this all up.

Smallville is my dirty little obsession. playboy

I have to agree with Ernest here; I think that Michael Rosenbaum will probably come back at least to finish up his character... and we will all "Oooh" and "Aaah" and gawk momentarily.

That is what stopped me and my son watching it a couple of years ago...It was such an animated and compelling show at one point...and then it lost its way when it took too long to turn Clark into Superman--at least the Superman that I knew from comics. My son loved the show but got tired when his favorite characters--Lex Luther, etc. were gone. Too bad! Started out out great for its first few seasons! sad

It was really good, though I know next to nothing bout JSA so I got some research to do. Honestly I've loved the past 2 season more than the rest. Once they got rid of Lana and gave Chloe more to do than secretly pine for Clark, her watchertower persona has become a favorite of mine' the show really hit a high note. Seriously this show could go for another 2 years.

Though with all the stories Arrow is getting Im smelling a spin off.

Tonight Dr. Fate and the Hawk-man or whatever he's called basically told Clark that he has to lead the new generation of super heroes. He has to be Superman to do that.

He also said that Lex will be the ultimate foe so somehow or other Lex has to come back.

But they have to stop going off in all these different directions. sad

I kept getting them mixed up with the Justice League so I need to research too. I was sick to death of Lana crying all the time and the wack storylines they gave her.

Dr. Fate said that Lois is Clark's destiny though, so I wonder what they're gonna do with Chloe eventually?

Now I don't know much bout the Watchtower in the comic lore, but it seems that when the show is wrapping up Chloe who has the computer knowledge to do it will kill her Chloe persona and continue as Watchtower thats why the future legions that came back last year with the ring had never heard of Chloe Sullivan.

Aha!

Tonight the Martian warned Chloe that too much knowledge would destroy her mind just like Dr. Fate so becoming Watchtower might be the only way for her to survive.

no, I know what blaxploitation is but I haven't seen alot of it. Foxy came out a good 13 years before I was even born. I honestly just cam't remember in my mind seeing this woman in anything I've seen other than the L word. not saying I've never seen anything she's been in I just don't remember it as being her.

I enjoyed it. I like that Tom Welling is stretching himself with some directing of episodes here and there. (He directed Part II of the 2 part show last night.) I like that these things like the Justice League are finally coming together. It's been a long tease for a while. I have to admit that I have to look up who Wesley Dodds is, or anyone else, as I'm not a huge comic book guy, and don't know the characters. I still love the Superman and Batman lore. I kind of wish they would have Bruce Wayne show up, just once.

I find the lore more interesting than most of the Superman/Clark/Lois storylines. Ive never been a fan of Superman cause he's always such a good doer. I like my hero struggling.

She had quite a few character roles after the blaxploitation era but nothing really memorable so it's not surprising that the younglings don't remember her from back then.

Another thing I had forgotten is that the Martian is the son of Gregg Morris from the old Mission Impossible series.

The plus of Smallville is that his struggle lies in not only not telling his secret, but trying to trust those who do know it, and avoiding love because of it. The only real time he was with Lana was the time he didn't have his powers. He would've ripped her apart otherwise. haha I see a lot of struggle in this version of Clark Kent; more than other versions.
