Authentic Halloween costumes

Something I notice every year is that ppl always manage to have on these really great looking authentic costumes. I mean like Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars and Star Trek. So I'm curious, where do you get the ones that look like the actual costumes and not the ones yuo buy from the Halloween Store or Target?

I was talking to a "Storm Trooper" who told me he ordered it online. It was soooo cool! He didn't have the helmet on because he said it was cumbersome and hot.

Most people with the really awesome costumes either spent exorbitant amounts buying them online, or made their costumes at home.

my oldest was a bakugaun
my middle was a storm strooper
my baby was a white tiger
my hubby was a 70's MJ (with fro)
I was Lady GaGa with blue hair
